Default EU like Asian Bloc.

Went through this piece of news:
https://www.dawn.com/news/1320503/re...l-eu-like-bloc
Confused between seeing it in sarcasm or seriousness. Don't you guys think this kind of regional cooperative measures in 'third world countries' (or "Asian and Middle-Eastern countries) merely a waste of time and energy? We already have a fairly large bowl full of worthless unions and organisations which consume our resources with no or negligible results. See OIC, SAARC, ECO etc. which are here for decades with no constructive results. And now we are left with no other option but to craft another version of EU in Asia. Another surprisingly interesting thing in this piece of news is the phraseology of Raza Rabbani's speech. He seems to have read the book "Great speeches of great personalities" last night . Read this:
Quote:
"We, the parliamentarians of Asia sitting here, represent the people who are suffering, under-nourished, objects of poverty and victims of terrorism. If we are unable to find an indigenous solution to the problems of our own people, history will not forgive us,"
Really, I don't think such are the words of our concurrent politicians.
