Default The idea of Civil Services!

With an unprecedented scale of growth in terms of innovation and technology, liberal intellectual thoughts and changing mode of creating an impact in the world and in Pakistan, Isn't that the idea of joining civil services of Pakistan and cementing it as a long-time career obsolete or a fashion of old 70s and 80s? Doesn't it garner the feeling that, while joining this service, the individual would leave behind at the pace of world?

I'm not here to discourage or create any source of a nuisance but to initiate a healthy discussion as cssforum is a community of well-educated and thoughtful guys.
