Thumbs down Three Fold Increase In The Salary Of Judicial Officers

according to punjab budget 2008-09, judges are bestowed with three fold increase in basic salary while all the other government servents get only 20% increase in their basic salary. It's not fair, Is it?
What do u think?

@ D Geek

bro the judges are distinct from other govt. employees. as u see the judiciary is an organ of the state which ensures the administration of justice to be done in accordance with the principles as laid down by the constitution and other legislation. so the point is that in order to keep judicial officers away from corruption and malpractices it is essential to raisae their salaries and benefits. but in no way i m contending that the salaries of other employees should not be raised they must be raised but if the govt has done a thing good within one sphere it has to be appreciated.

regards,

Thumbs down Look At The Real Picture

@ mohsinmumtaz
I am not against any institution or personality. I just want to say that judges are already enjoying more perks than other government officials. It is useless to give them more. A bird’s eye view will disclose everything.
1) Civil judges are inducted in Grade 18 instead of 17.
2) Even the civil judges are now enjoying more pays than IG police and Chief Secretary.
3) Look at the pay structure of an entry level judicial officer = 15000*3=45000
4) Plus approximately Rs.6000 judicial increment means 45000+6000=Rs.51000
5) Promotions are rapid than any other service group e.g DMG,PSP.
6) Better housing and accommodation facilities than other officials.
What do you think now?

Asalamoalaikum,
Actually ,as question has been raised that why judges salaries r being increased than other institution's officer specially in Punjab
so answer is very simple that Shahbaz Sharif is cm of punjab n Nawaz Sharif is struggling for the restoratation of judges.the thing is very much cleared that in PML N's menifesto restaintment of judges have been given priority,so definately after coming in power in punjab they will facilate the life of judges more n more ,so there is nothing to be surprised that judiciary is being given privilligies than any other organ of pak's administration.

@ D GEEEK

bro, as far as grades are concerned, i'll submitt that grades of judiciary and that of executve are umcomparable as btoh are distict cadres. besides DMG,PSP etc are departments of the federatiion and judiciary is subordinate to the respective provincial High Courts. All High Courts are subordinate to the Supreme Court of pakistan. High Courts and Supreme Court are constitutional bodies. so it is umcoparable. now coming to the facilities. civil judges do not enjoy official cars and residence. except in cases where they are posted beyond their hometown. CSPs enjoy far more facilities than the civil judges. as regards the salaries as ms. juliana said it is the endeavor of mr. sharif. but thisis a quantum leap in the right direction.

having said all this i would reiterate that judiciary and executive are two organs of the govt. and as such are not comparable in any respect.

@queenjuliana13
You are right that restoration of judiciary is part & parcel of PML-N manifesto but the fact is that both PPP & PML-N are not interested in the restoration of judiciary. They are just playing dirty games to divert the attention of people from real issues. Mammoth increase in the pays of subordinate judiciary has nothing to do with the restoration of judiciary. Tell me, is this fair to give everything to a small organ of society while leaving all the other people in lurch?

@MOHSINMUMTAZ
Don’t consider civil judges only. The higher echelon of judiciary is enjoying more legitimate perks than any civil servant can even think of. The pay of a Sessions judge (with 20 yrs of experience) is Rs.130000 + fully furnished home + extra benefits (not available to any civil servant) + free electricity + free gas etc. now look at the perks of a poor civil servant i.e. an officer of the rank of chief secretary is paid only Rs.40000/-. Do you still think that a chief secretary with a 25 to 30 years of service to the nation is a lesser human being.

all news paper and media blitz are labouring under the most deceptive understanding of unquestioning independance of judiciary, before justice chaudry,s ugly saga surfaced , judiciary was enjoing better times under musharaf than ever to have enjoyed under nawaz sharif and bhuuto-zardari mafias. but it all went heywire owing to the rapacity and wolfishness of musharaf and shaukat aziz to plunder trillion,s of worth of steel mill overnight. had sharif or zardari-bhutto bunch had been the actors or in musharaf,s shoes, it would have been a likely story. why nawaz sharif is stradlling along the lawers movement is because it is his political fortune. lawers movement must not see nawaz as its props, it must stand its ground without the cocoon of any political party, and have imran khan and qazi hussain as its feelers so that current coalation govt can be screwd on straght and narrow on the political chess-board of pakistan. whatever the current claims of sharifs, they would never countenance any check and balance when with absolout power. i am a student of law and has far more acute understanding of the affairs of pakistan than the silly buffoon writers of facile articles in news papers.

yes agree with abidusman and DEVOLUTION GEEK
that all of the affairs which has been created are just for making fool of nation. Zerdari has never got good relationships with eX-CJ and even used to use harsh words for her and now he is acting as he is very close to him and wouldn't be relaxed until he gets his 'seat' back. politics is a very dirty game is which we would have to be what we are not. We would show what we actually don't feel at all.

Surmount
