The dilemma of parliamentary democracy
Parliamentary Democracy in many parts of the world has proved to be workable though it is also no perfect political system. “Suppose that elections are free and fair and those elected are racists, fascists, and separatists. That is the dilemma”, said the American diplomat Richard Holbrooke about Jugoslavia in the 1990s. But the fact is that the West has decided to promote democracy worldwide and to make the adherence to democracy a decisive criterion for the awarding of loans or development aid, the allocation of development funds and of other means of economic aid and cooperation, the incentives for “going democratic” have risen considerably throughout the world.

Salamona
As for as American perception and approach towards Democracy is concerned,it is an established fact that she has schooled a mixed and diversified approach for different geographical locations according to its own vested interest. In most of the Arab regions she seems to support monarchs,on the contrary in regions, most likely in hopeless, struggling and underdeveloped she prefers and patronize democracy. This double standard policy has a bearing on its so called successful policy.
As for as parliamentary democracy is concerned,i hold that its standards and methodologies have been derived from the intrinsic proclivities. This system is not bad itself, furthermore it provides for a sustainable, consolidated and feasible social and economic conditions to the societies.Let me clarify, that prevailing concept and practices under parliamentary democratic systems have been diluted by self-circled persons and hate mangers.Probably, owing to malpractices and abusive behavioral approaches entire world seems digressing from path of the duty.

parliamentary democracy
Parliamentary democracy is not confined to free and fair elections, it is broader in scope and wider in application its basis is constitutional liberalism which guarantees rule of law, fundamental rights, protection against arbitrary rule independent judiciary separation of powers and making life liberty and pursuit of happiness as the final goals of government. Constitutional liberalism is not about the procedure of selecting governments but rather governments goals, and parliamentary democracy is a means to that end; not an end in itself. IF it fails to achieve the ends ingrained in constitutional liberalism, It is worst than tyranny. What we are witnessing today is exactly the same; democracy is promoted but liberty is not. democratic governments are failure with regard to securing life and liberty of there citizens and the tyrannical methods they employ to retain power are in contravention with the ends for which governments are instituted. After all Socrates was executed by a democratic regime. 'In my opinion form of government is immaterial what difference does it make to a poor man whether he is devoured by a lion or a hundred rats', said Voltaire. It is high ideals ingrained in constitutional liberalism which make difference rather than the votes gained by an Illiberal regime through elections. Good and bad parliamentary democracies can be viewed in these paradigms.
