Thats right..Search Engines only search for web pages ....and it is not a judicios decision to ban such useful sites in Pakistan...It would affect every one from student to scientists...Banning such sites means disconnecting yourself from the world ...it seems eerie ..if these sites have published any unethical stuff then banning them in Pakistan would not work...rather it would incite them to do such nefarious acts more frequently....

This requires a unanimous decision by all the Muslims around the world because it is not only related to the Pakistani Muslims ...why other Muslim states are silent in this regard...why OIC dont come up with a concrete step to stop such cyber attacks...

Why Pakistan always gets infuriated at such steps ...why not other people ??I think we are too reactive....

Muslim scholars should start intellectual discourse with non muslim scholars to address these issues.Imposing ban on search engines is not a solution at all . We need to tackle these issues pragmatically not emotionally.

The blockage of website does not work on the following grounds:

1. Muslims are not doing this and Pakistan is a Muslim state. People do not see this material intentionally. Useless to block a site which people do not see

2. Pakistan can only block sites within her territory while the material is being watched world wide.

3. Internet is not bad; bad are people who misuse it. Million of Pak students and Business men would loose if sites blocked.

4. Only blockage of these sites would not make a large difference for the search engines; they will not face significant loss which make them eager to reconcile with the muslims and delete the material.

WHAT PAK CAN DO

1. start a diplomatic protest

2. Bycott, officially, the products of the country involved in blasphemy

3. Muslim countries, collectively, should start a compaign to tell the world that what Islam is.

A scholar wrote "Islam is not all what Muslims do". We need to tell the world that what Islam means.
