4. Discriminatory policy of west against Islam

• a. Minarets, Hijab and other issues
• b. US policy towards Muslim countries Vs Israel

Group 2:
No, there is not;
1. All western actions are motivated by Geo-Political interests

• a. Iraq ==> Oil fields and Iraq - Israel tensions
• b. Afghanistan ==> Natural resources rich country and a strategic location

2. Precedent of Western (Christian) conflicts among themselves

• a. Protestants Vs Catholics
• b. US Vs Russia (Both Christian)
• c. Cold war b/w US and Russia

3. Precedent of Conflicts between Islamic countries

• a. Iraq - Kowait war
• b. Iraq - Iran war
• c. Bangladesh succession from Pakistan

As all above factors suggest that there is no clash of civilization in real sense rather all actions of all the nations are motivated by their geo-political interests. All nations whether western, Muslim or any other civilization, consider their strategic interests at top of every thing hence clash of civilization theory presented by western scholars does not hold water and out of consideration.

(As Opponents and Proponents, both have strong arguments. In this case is above conclusion about clash of civilization make sense? Please discuss this and also tell how to tackle this type of question in CSS. )

I dont think it is clash b/w Islam and the west, but it is a clash of economic interests. Millions of muslims that live in europe/usa, are fully supporting their countries in the current war against terror. If it would have been a clash between Islam and the west, then these muslims would have been left these countries to settle in muslim countries.
Ask the muslims like sadia warsi and many others like her who are well-settled in west and they will tell you the same thing. They dont have any fears while living in west and have same views like other westerns regarding extermism in muslim countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, saudia and somalia.

not completely agreed with sociologist pu they are accepted in those countries (saeeda warsi etc) because they have adopted western culture completely if this is not the reason than why ban on burqa n hijab why always Muslims are considers to be terrorists?
there might not be any clash of civilizations but there is clash of ideologies if this is not the reason why our history witnessed crusades?
they can not throw out Muslims residing in there countries because if they do so where will there economy stands? Muslims are playing a vital role in their economy, any muslims residing their will tell you what discrimination they are facing islam is mis represented their,if it is just clash of economic interest why days like burn Quran day (astghfirullah) draw muhammad day(Astghfirullah) are been celebrated and announced there?
i don't say there are not economic interests but base is the religion difference of ideology

Plz read the statement of Saeeda Warsi in todays Dawn (page 4). She is fully supporative of her PM and defending his statement regarding terrorism from Pakistan. If it is a war between civilizations, why she and other muslims like her are supporting western powers ?

states are motivated by their national interests and no two countries are spiritually affiliated with one another as friends.in international politics, there is no permanent enemy nor any permanent friend.permanent is only one's own national interest.hence, we cannot stake over this hypothesis that there is a clash b/w islam and the west.had it been so, there wud hv been no muslim in the western countries.and why the wars b/w the muslim countries hv taken place? why have the western, especially european countries taken centuries to settle their religious and cultural disputes? why has the OIC failed? we become strong when we hv an enemy.if west is our enemy, then why do we not recognise it and unite ourselves?
