Default HUMILITY vs PRIDE.
Ali, a friend of mine cleared css written part 3 times consecutively. In the first attempt he was not allocated. He is awaiting allocation in the CE 09. He got through in CE 2010 too. he was among top 10 in PMS PUNJAB. zafar, An other friend of mine availed all his 3 chances but could not even clear written part once. from humble origins, Ali is a simple and humble soul where as zafar is a very proud man; both are equally intelligent and hard working. when Zafar started preparation for css in 2007, he started behaving like our top civil servants behave. He also failed in PMS. (Note: names not real)

I think firstly the success and failure in these exams are the matter of luck and another point is that it can be also possible that zafar was more confident in his success than Ali thats why he started to behave like that.Here it does not matter that he will qualify in future or not. The only thing which matters is strong belief in abilities and firm determination. nothing else.

His arguements, and actions are governed by emotions however Ali's are by reason. A balanced personality as he is, Ali has a optimistic approach towards evry problem. " I renounce optimism, says Zafar. " It is the madness of asserting that evrything is good, when it is evil." An extrimist to the core, he loves neither company nor isolation.
