The biggest reason behind the sorry state of affair of the Muslim is the deviation from the true Islamic principals. No doubt, Islam doesn’t teach hatred, violence and indifference rather it is the religion of peace, fraternity and love.
Now we ill analyze the causes of the backwardness of The Muslim
Political causes
1. Monarchy and aristocracy prevail in the Muslim world and, unlike early Muslim Caliph and ruler, the contemporary ruler are selfish and corrupt. That’s why the Islamic gold rules for governance is seldom applied in Muslim countries.
2. The People in Muslim world are less aware of their right and obligation due to bleak literacy rate. And also the government is reluctant to improve the infrastructure of education.
3. The Muslims have only one international organization; OIC, which is lion without teeth
4. The international powers also willfully push the Muslims against the wall in every field, because they wanted to exploit over power Muslim economically and religiously.

Socioeconomic causes
1 The Muslim world has abundant natural resource, but technological and educational backwardness stalemate their progress.
2. One of the major causes the Muslim stasis is the overwhelming illiteracy rate in the Muslim world.
3. Scientific facts and knowledge was introduced by the Muslim scientist. But now the nation having 1/5 population of the world has no renowned scientist in contemporary era.

Religious Causes
1. Internal disharmony among the Muslims; sectarianism
2. Wrong and destructive interpretation of the Quranic verses; the concept of jihad is misunderstand
3. Involvement of foreign to defame Islam and destabilize the Muslim world

Islam is a complete religion that show us the way how to deal or live in the world, in any society of life, in any culture and with any religion as a slave or as a master, as a ruler or as a pupil, as a modernist or as a preacher. It does not mean that Islam or Allah (SWT) was unaware of the era that we are in. The extremism, the politics, the education and extracurricular activities, war and the peace all were there in the time of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) but obviously in a different style or way, in fact these things have started since the mankind came on earth.
These days when we see Muslims and Islam in today’s fast and modern societies, there are the solutions available is Quran and Hadith that can guide us to the way which we can follow in the race of this world. Our religion did not stop us from educating our children whether he is a male or a female and it didn’t forbid women to participate in any aspect or activity of the society just binding some rules that our Islamic teachings taught us. The terrorism we are facing also is the result of our own mistakes that our leaders have made contradicting the Islamic rules. Islamic society as a whole in the world is condemned by different groups of people like Jews and Christians or Hindus, because we are not united and we as a Muslim never behaved like a nation or a Islamic society as a whole. Despite that we are divided and scattered, not caring for our Muslim brothers but only for our own self or for our family. If we have obeyed the rules of Islam and saying of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) regarding our neighbor country rights, dealing with our enemies, protecting our own selves and Islam, we had never faced such pressure of terrorism, especially on Pakistan and on other Islamic countries.
Now the question rises that how we could compete the world specially west in education and other technologies without following them? Yes we can do, if we change the system of education in our own society. Example of Pakistan is here, as we have number of levels of education in a country. For poor it’s different and for rich it’s different. Quoting the example of china, where Google search engine, Wikipedia is banned but look at them where they stand? Have they opted the culture of west or are they trying to do so? The answer will be NO. then why we can’t avoid such things and make things happen according to Islam and Quran in our own country where there is no restrictions on a women to go for education to do job to live a life on her own and according to her mind within the circle of Islam? Then is it necessary to follow west? Nothing will be the answer but NO!
Off course, I am not against the use of technology what the west had made. Also I am not saying that one cannot live in west or study there. But point is that we are getting far much away from Islam and we are attracted towards west because of the only negative use of the things they had made. Internet an example that is destructing the minds of our kids and the nation as a whole, having vulgar stuff and suffering it all the time, there is a saying that if you want to win a battle without fight, just involve your opponents in such lavish activities like sex, dinking etc and you slowly and gradually will win the war without fighting. You can surrender a society and the victims felling in are the Muslim societies in this 21st century. As far as we’ll be from our religion, we will be the victim and losers.
We can rise in any field of life following only few and basic Islamic rules that we have forgotten. Whether it is journalism, a print or electronic media, politics, terrorism, economic crises, international relations, defensive measures or anything else, in fact I would say the only 1 rule can change our lives as is now and it is only the TRUTH.
