We need to learn lessons from Dhaka Downfall
Today is the 35th anniversery of Separation of East Pakistan. 35 years is a long duration for finding out the actual causes of the incident. But, unfortunately, Dhaka downfall is a subject that our people are least intrested to talk about. Let aside to investigate into the causes for the separation of East Pakistan on Government level. Even today, a large number of people are kept behind the iron curtains on this important and dark event of the Pakistan History.
Tere are a number of reasons put forward by many people from time to time. Politicians blame Pakistan Army for its surrender and Army reciprocally the Politicians for all the mess. Collectively, both come to a common consenses over the Foreign meddeling and agitation of masses by the local politicians in the name of Bengali Nationalism as a conspiracy against the United Federation of Pakistan. Some people alos account the cultural and geographical differences between the two wings. Very few people are ready to pin point the realities that cultivated the seeds of insurgency and hatred towards West Pakistan of the time among the patriotic bengalis of the united Pakistan and they got Independence. That was actually East Pakistan's griviences about the economic dispartities between the two wings, political differences, the military imbalance, under representation in Government departments, language controversy, and response of Government to the 1970's natural calamity which drive the public to stand against the unity and interity of their own country, AN ISLAMIC STATE OF PAKISTAN for which they had strive hard in early Nineteenth century. History witness that whenever masses get together for a common cause, and stand up for their basic human rights of independence and freedom from want; proverty; hunger; illiteracy; unumployment, then the bullets and cannons can't stop them. Exactly that happened to us in 1940s when we were fighting the war of our self Determination agaisnt the United Federation of India..... Exatly that happened to Bengalis in 1970 when they were fighting the war of their self determination against the United Federation of Pakistan..... and God Forbid Exactly that is going to be the fate of our underdeveloped and deprived provinces if the things move forward in the same manner as they are carried away...... There are some lessons we need to learn from the dismemberment of Pakistan (1971), and that of Indo-Pak Subcontinent(1947). Both the historical incidents have many things in common, both tell us about the journey of a nation's struggle for the right of the Self Determination..... its not about a matter of fighting for the cause of Muslim Nationalism in United India or fighting for a cause of Bengali Nationalism in United Pakistan..... its not about the Religious differences ( in former case) or about the Cultural differences (in later case)..... nor its about the heterogenity of a state's population that lead to segregation of the masses into two or more than two nations. Its all about the discrmination from the federation, the decades long deprivation in social, economic and political sectors, the use of armed force against unarmed civilian populationw hich lead to such dismemberment The same goes for the division of the Indo Pak sub Continent, the same goes for the division of United Pakistan and the same may contribute to teh furtehr disitegration of Pakistan ( God Forbid)... We need to learn lessons from history, we need to learn lesson from partition of India, We need to learn lesson from Dhaka Downfall, Or else History will repeat itself again to teach us a lesson not different to that of previous ones.... May God Bless Pakistan and Keep it United till Doom's Day Ameen |

It is true that we have learnt nothing from Fall of Dhaka(Former Esat Pakistan). If it had been so, the conditions of Balochistan would have not been deteriorated to such extent. The ruling establsihment must realise now that be-fooling the own countrymen thorugh the country in to existential threat, that we are facing today? Whats our standing at international landscape? We are known to be terrorist, extremist, corrupt and hypocrite people in the comity of nations. We have learnt nothing from the history. We witnessed two decade-long army rules after fall of dhakaa and thirld take over would not be out of ordinary if it happens. Small provinces are still living under sense of deprivation? Security agencies dont function under ambit of law? rule of law, respect for constitution are not more than slogans with little visbility in reality?
