Default Will PPP-Led Govt implement the N League Agenda???

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani telephoned PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and said 'yes' to implement the 10-point agenda opposition leader presented some days ago.

The deadline was going to expire Monday 060 pm.

A press release issued by the Prime Minister House said; "The PM in his talks with the PML-N chief praises his political wisdom and says yes to his plan. The PM also sought help to implement the reform agenda".

A three-member committee to be headed by Senator Ishaq Dar would contact the government in this regard, the statement said.

Last week, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif gave 72 hours to PM Gilani government to give a categorical yes or no response to his stated charter of demands and another 45 days to deliver or face political liquidation. He also made it unequivocally clear that in the event of the government's failure to deliver, it would be the time to seek a "fresh mandate" from the people.

The PML-N, however, delayed the initial 72-hour deadline by three days due to the assassination of Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer. The 10-point agenda, which Nawaz Sharif called a shorter agenda, does not include the demand for trial of Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution. "We are excluding this demand from the shorter agenda because we feel it is out of government's capacity to do the same. I also do not want to give an impression of any personal grudges with Musharraf," Nawaz said.

Announcing the immediate short term agenda for implementation by the Gilani government, the PML-N chief demanded withdrawal of increase in petroleum prices, mechanism to control electricity and gas prices and loadshedding, effective measures to control corruption, including ouster of corrupt ministers and corrupt officers from government departments, measures to provide relief to masses by checking the price hike, implementation on decisions of the Supreme Court, including its verdict against the NRO, 30 per cent reduction in government's development expenses, reconstitution of the Election Commission, recovery of loans which were written off on political basis, ensuring security of the country, strengthening the standing committees of two houses of parliament, transparent probe into scams of the Punjab Bank, Insurance Corporation, Steel Mills and other mega scandals.

All parties, smaller or major, have praised PM's stance to give respect to N-league Agenda. But it is evident from history that, in this coalition, so far, PPP has got great talent to dodge N-LEAGUE. They can not implement agenda. They will just bite the time space provided 45 days, wnd will get out of the pressuric situation in these days to again stablize govt.

Many Political anchors and columnists termed it another GOLI by PPP to PML N just to pass days in govt. Mr. Sheikh Rasheed even said " Gillani sb ne Nawaz sharif ko phir truck ki batti k peche laga diya hai" lolz....

What is your view regarding the possible outcome??

I agree with Sh Rasheed, he is 100 pcnt right. But analysts have said this is the last move by Nawaz League. N they, if dodged this time, which is very certain, will surely urge the govt to walk out of the Govt as they seem extremely serious and concerned as their voters are being affected by their Democracy saviour expedition to support ppp.....

Mark my words,N-league will not dislodge the present gov. This gov will complete its five-year term.Reason: no party is confident about their performance in any future elections.

PPP-Led shaky Govt is inevitable to make any Progress. Now their strategy is to accomodate in a room untill it is possible, if not then otherwise. Now they can do anything Like Musharaf did in reign just to make Govt tepee Longer and longer by accepting all Parties stances.

I wonder what is harmful in the demands of PML(N) ?
Everybody wants to do these things for the welfare of Pakistan and its people. Why the present government does nothing to curb the corruption ? Is it the duty of Supereme Court only to pinpoint the corrupts as they take action only when the honourable court takes action ?
It is right time that all political forces join hands to compel them to take bold steps as demanded by PML.

I second Mr.Khurshid. No party will take 'witches' brew' under these circumstances. N-League will continue to play this "ankh-macholi" with the present govt, but wont dislodge it on the pretext that they will never be the part of derailing process of democracy, while they are loathe to govern at this critical moment when Pak is in trouble.

@unsolved_Mystery.

You know there is nothing new in this development. Shareef Mian's 9 demands are of general nature(mostly) so there are many loop holes for the Gov. Sharief says Gov expenses should be cut by 30%, how??? Yeh chalaki daikho.....demand general terms may hay....specific measure nahi bataye...so Gov reply ho ga ..." hamari poori koshish hay expenses cut karnay ki"....sab bakwass rhetoric hay.........

Yeah right. Eradication of corruption???????? lolz Where to start? A story unlikely to be completed in next 200 years Here is his main concern - implementation on decisions of the Supreme Court, including its verdict against the NRO
Newspaper Headlines - N-League ne ek baar phir PPP to ghutnay taiknay per majboor kar dia. Blackmailing chalti rahay gi. PPPP ko chahiye the govt desolve kar kay kehti as said Faisal Raza Abdi "Apna Khalifa lao" Dekhtay phir kon aata aagay
