Default Has war on terror ended??
I just read the article about War on Terror in Wikipedia and was surprised to see that this was written in its introductory lines "Officially, the War on Terror label has not been used since Barack Obama came to office in 2009, but the war in Afghanistan continues." (War on Terror - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Can we write in exams that "Officially the war on terror has ended" if need arises.

Default The war is not yet ended
Nato is expected to set a 2014 target for handing over security to Afghans. The allies appear to agree the target year is realistic, but that hardly means the war is ending. The war is not yet ended.

The US is wary of giving the impression that the original aim of invading Afghanistan in 2001 — to deny al Qaeda a base to launch more terrorist attacks on the West — will be achieved by then.

Thats what surprised me, War on Terror obsolete and War in Afghanistan still in use . The Global side of the war has reduced to Afghanistan only.

Default Term Changed
The term "War on Terror" is not officially used by the President Barack Obama's administration, instead they uses the term Overseas Contingency Operations.

The notion of a "war on terror" has been criticized for lacking a defined and identifiable enemy, they never even defined terrorism. To avoid criticism they changed the "terminology".
