Smile Express Tribune Vs Dawn?

after going through new daily "Express Tribune", I have realized that it is much better then "Dawn". Its distinguishing features are;
very expreinced intellectual like Ishrat Hussain, Ayesha Sadeeqa, Dr Akmal Hussain and others write for this newspaper. Secondly, its designing of news is eye catching and thirdly I found it more brief as compared to Dawn.

As you all peple know that we, CSS aspirants, normally like to study dawn however express tribune is a new in this field. So I am initiating this discussion to discuss whehter express tribune is better then Dawn or not? and should the aspirants, and myslef too, start subscribing to express tribune?

plz discuss the matter here by comparing tribune vs dawn and sugesst.

i read Tribune for more than 3 months but then my eacher strictly ordered to leave it and advised me to read only dawn. then i started dawn and i found the reality that Dawn is 100% better than tribune.
bcoz as we know that OLD IS GOLD
following differences i found.
1. dawn's columns are more analytical than tribune.
2. dawn's columnists are much experienced
3. dawn's columns are on different topics whereas tribune are mostly the same.
4. dawn also includes good columns from other newspapers like Guardian London.
i suggest you to read dawn only.

I found the letter section of Dawn superior to all other news papers. It contains current issues and criticism of the columists' work by highly qualified writers. Beside the letter writers raise differnt issues which are often overlooked otherwise. Apart from that the editorial section is worth reading on account of its mature style and non partisan posture something hardly found in other newspapers. My vote therefore goes to Dawn.

Well i have studied TRIBUNE a lot and on my whole experience that i cherished. I realized that Dawn is far better than Tribune due to its very concise and strict analysis on various topics and even its letters to editor are also very informative. Specially Dawn's opinion of editorials is really convincing as they are not biased. What i like in TRIBUNE is their presentation of news, lay out and font with color BUT their colums are with no match of that of Dawn's

TRIBUNE's international news paper's editorials and columns are really good but Dawn's international columns of Robert Fisk, Krugman, Edwards are really worth reading as Dawn is quite selective in publishing columns Int'l significance hence DAWN is DON

Well, you people are right. I just gone through the paper once but I really appreciate Tribune's layout and designing of news. However, you are right, Dawn's columns are realy good but some columns in Tribune are also praise worthy' just read Dr. Akmal and Dr. Ishrat Hussain.

Robertm, Krugman and Edwards column appear on World in Focus page or somewhere else?

I could not develop my interest in WIF page as I think that there is collection of news instead of analysis on that page. what is your opinion regarding that.

You can find them on the int'l page of WIF page and it does show very vital columns and news....Like Robert Fisk is considered an expert in Middle East news and Krugman a strong critic of American policies so you can find out very strong material.yes its tough at the start to get in touch with this page but once you read them through in detail you will get to know they are the real DAWN....
Tribune is developing good but it gives columns of youngsters who usually are not authority except Ishrat hussain, Zafar Hilaly, Ayesha Siddiqa and some others...and its editorials are also sometimes very much biased. In days of Governor Taseer's death it gave extreme views against Blasphemy laws which never gave any touch of moderate neutral journalism....
Dawn is DON....but Tribune has got an outstanding eye catching stuff, you are attracted to read it....

Regards
