Default 184 serving Generals...

Political Governments are criticized , and rightly so, for having big cabinets. But i was surprised to know that there are 184 Serving Generals in Pakistan Army. Many of the branches , previously headed by low ranked officers , are now in the commands of Generals. The living standard of Generals shows as to what they are being paid from National Exchequer during service and after retirement.I dont know the exact number of Air marshals and commodores but promotions in all the three forces, as per my knowledge, are awarded proportionally.

I solicit the opinion of learned members whether there is need to rationalize this strength and if yes, then how it can be possible?

hmmm, when you talk about generals, even brigadiers count in that . so if there is a total of 184 brigadiers, major generals, lieutenant generals and (one or two) full four star generals, it seems a viable number for a force of over six hundred thousand personnel . we only think of it more as our army doesnt just act as a national defence force, it acts in many other (purely political) roles as well.

there is no need of this much generals . infact army is a white elephant. first they create a problem then bring a absurd solution to the problem . the recent example is creation of taliban n helped them in occupying afghanistan . in 65 army attacked Indian administrated kashmir . the result was war . in 71 they could not save pakistan. misadventure of 99 took many lives .
army can only arrest n hang pms of pakistan ,kill unarmed pples in streets .
this intitution has no justification to exist . we r more safe without army

Even though strong defense is needed and we need good commanders for proper working of force and defense of country but due to lack of military accountability, military started using resources in negative side causing itself a burden on people of Pakistan. Yes, our military is a liability now for us.
Such a high number of generals in a single force army is really a worrying thing, and more or less same number of higher officers would be in other 2 forces, all getting high salaries, perks etc from govt of Pakistan which is already in deficit from all sides
Military accountability is badly needed now, otherwise we will be having Pakistan Cantt one day.

yes it is indeed need of the hour but my question is who will do this task?

sir military is using our resources negatively since independence. they never support any democratic govt. why? for the reason of accountability.

so many numbers of generals in a single army is like so many teachers in one class and then you can easily guess what result will come.

i think we should make a law through which a democratic goverment could easily control army and make amendments in thier prevailing systems.

. There "can be" some law limiting the number of general staff (including brigadiers) in all branches of the military, even the United States military follows such laws:

10 U.S.C. § 526 : US Code - Section 526: Authorized strength: general and flag officers on active duty
