Karachi Genocide and silence of Government
Karachi death toll reaches 33 in 48 hours. Thousands of people died since last year. Criminal silence of government added fuel to the fire and everyday people are dying like animals. Who is going to stop them? PPP, MQM, ANP enjoying blessings of Democracy and its fruits. Poor people are becoming victim of their fate? We can only pray to our LORD to Have mercy on citizens. Ameen.

More than 50 people died in Karachi over the last three days. MQM is mainly responsible of this violence. They are showing their power to Government that they can do any thing for their interests. The situation of Karachi cannot be improved unless top leadership of MQM is arrested.

Its very sad to view the happenings of Karachi.. More than 50 people killed in 3 days only, means around 16 people per day... Xeric, only prayers wont do any thing good.... Apparently, the killings are being done to further certain political agenda, however, it doesnt mean that the problem will be solved with arrest of top politicians of some party (as stated by Arain). In plain words, it would never serve any purpose. MQM had remained a party in active politics/in alliance with government from around last 10 years and it has ample saying in Karachi. Yet it seems that now there will not be any political solution of this problem, because all political parties are eyeing on senate, whose selections are to be made in early next year. And it appears that there would be no re-alliance between PPP and MQM unless PPP led government is going to offer something very bigger to MQM.... Another dimension for curtialing number of killings is that government is carrying out extensive operations and increasing security with the help of two of main institutions the Rangers and Police, however, it does not seem that it is doing anything good for curbing the anti-human/humicide activities...... . To sum up, if arrest of politicans is not going to do anything good, political re-alliance with government is not in offing and police & rangers are in a fix to curb the issue, thn what could be solution of all this fiasco? I remember a couple of months back i had a chit chat with a person, who had been a part of Karachi operations in early 1990s. He told that there were around 20-30 killings at Karachi on daily basis and terror was in atmosphere of Karachi and thn the then government decided to launch an operation and his department asked for volunteers, he stood up and volunteered, got orders to be ready by that evening, he went home and asked his wife to pack up his luggage, his small child was inquisitive and his wife as well as his parents were in fear.. the man simply replied to his wife and parents that every day 20 to 30 people are sacrificing their lives and the thing is to be cleared by some people and he wanted to be one of them, he said if he dies he will be shaheed and if he come alive he will be a ghaazi.. the touching thing for me, when he told the events and sort of things, was a word that he thought a simple thing that if he is able to save at least one life that means he has completed his purpose of living.. he went to karachi, was a little part of whole operation, many of his coleagues passes away in the operation and many returned to their homes in different areas of the country.. their achivement was that only after three months of that operation the killing rate, per day, was curtailed to 4-5 killings per day and therafter there was good level of peace at Karachi.... That man is still serving his department at good position and was awarded T.St (Tamghae Shujaat) after Karachi operations. Only 5-6 people were awarded T.St after that operation.... Anyways, to cut the story short, in my thinking there is perhaps need of an operation sweep up/clean up at Karachi and what i have got after reading various newspapers/megazines and journals as well as after having listened views of different anchors/analysts at news channels, the most effective institution to carry out that operation is the same institution which led/carried out extensive operation in 1990s at Karachi.... If i am right, that institution was a civilian intellgence apparartus. God bless our country and its people.... Amin.

I think main stakeholders in the present government are not serious to launch operation in Karachi. The chief justice of Pakistan should take so moto action over the violance in Karachi and should force government to launch operation.

It is the need of hour to launch same operation as was done in 90s to eliminate or atleast minimize the killings in Karachi. Police and Rangers have failed to control the violence. Shoot-on-sight order may be issued. Whether they are self-established notorious gangs or political groups killing each others' workers and citizens of the Karachi, the Army/intelligence appratus must clamp down on all these elements to get the fruitful results.

This is the game of power among the so called democratic forces who chat slogans for the ordinary people. All the three level of the government are not heading to the grim situation of the city. Though, there are many reasons of the ongoing target killing in the largest city of Pakistan, but it is the main responsibility of the government to ensure the lives of the citizens and take stern measures against the culprits. Ahh! this my request will remain request coz SUB MAYA HAI .
