Default Recognition of new regime in Libya

AoA

The National Transitional Council - NTC led regime has virtually taken most of the Libya limiting pro-Qaddafi forces to his native town of Sirte and in some areas of Southern Dessert (Bani Waleed).

The new administration has been able to get de-jure recognition from approximately 95 UN member countries (including our all neighbouring states of China, Afghanistan, India and Iran), besides UN, African Council, Arab League, EU etc has accorded recognition to anti-Qaddafi forces.

However, the Government of Pakistan has yet to recognize the new dispensation in Libya. I would like to request for valued opinion of fellow members, as to whether Pakistan should accord recognition to NTC or otherwise!

Muammar al Qadhafi’s 40 years of authoritarian rule in Libya have effectively come to an end.The armed uprising that began in February 2011 has reached a turning point, and opposition
forces now control the capital city, Tripoli, in addition to the eastern and western areas of thecountry. Most observers doubt the rebel gains are reversible. However, the coastal city of Sirte and some parts of central and southern Libya remain contested, and, isolated groups of pro-Qadhafi forces remain capable of armed resistance. The U.S. military continues to participate inOperation Unified Protector, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) military operation toenforce United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973, which authorizes “all necessarymeasures” to protect Libyan civilians. As of September 9, Muammar al Qadhafi had not beenlocated or detained, and opposition Transitional National Council (TNC) leaders are urging theirforces to exercise restraint and caution so that Qadhafi, his family members, and key regimeofficials may be captured alive, formally charged, and put to trial.

libiya is oil rich country and like afghanistan it has clan system of government.the new world order has been established .And democracy is inevitable.the Bonn accords in afghanistan, the demise of saddam is being followed by now mumar qaddafi.no doubt leader of this country is tyrant like surrounding ones.pakistan US relation are at stake and US is now super power.if pakistan support pro Qaddafi regime then it would labeled as propagater of terrorism and India will take advantage over it.we should consider what benfits pakistan can recieve if it accepts the new admisntration keeping aside ke major part---cotal part of libiya is in hand of qaddafi forces.According to me ,if pakistan can take part the in the war of US in Afghanistan and play a major role as it is obligatory then why not to accept the new regime .This will led a safe road of pak Us relation and pakistan will do as 70 countries also have accepted it.Iraq has already been occupied .and new govenment in which NOORul MALIKi HAVE obtained lesser vote have become president .that is done only by a single phone of OBama.and we all knew Russia has blocked the oil suuply of europe and new pipline will be formed from middle east and Africa that will provode oil to US and europe ..

Libayn revolution has been seen with eye of suspicion, by far, in Pakistan. It is being presented a foreign occupation akin to that of US led invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Those who subscribe to this theory maintain that west intends to plunder the lybian wealth and that the Late Qddafi was an obstacle before their designs hence this change.

Though i dnot deny the "ulterior motives, of western powers , but the above theory doesn't encompass the whole truth. Movement against Qaddafi was indigenous taking influence from neighboring countries' revolution. NATO intervened later , once movement had taken momentum and Qaddafi was hel bent on resorting to any brutality to save his regime.

NATO's decision of winding up their role forthwith instead of extending stay is a good omen and will serve to dispel the impression of foreign occupation. responsibility lies on new leadership, NTC, to restore the country peace in the country. They have to embrace the Qaddafi loyalists with big heart instead of persecuting them if they want to ensure longstanding stability and prevent any disorder.

I wish that this revolution for which hundered of thousands of innocent people sacrificed their lives prove harbinger of new era of liberty , prosperity and freedom for Libyans.
