Question Supreme Court’s decision on NRO & Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani

Supreme Court has declared that Prime Minister Gilani is not an honest person.

Islamabad: Emergency Coalition Meeting in Islamabad
Citing the supreme Court’s decision on NRO case, President Asif Ali Zardari has called an emergency meeting of coalition partners in the government.
The meeting is to be held here in Islamabad in light of the judgement passed earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, President Zardari has called Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to the President house before the meeting to discuss the matter.

What do you think "kya ho ga"?

Supreme Court of Pakistan had given an excellent decision in the present circumstances. The court gave six options to the government out of which one should be practiced by the government. I think that feudal minded PPP leaders will not act upon court's directives rather they will confront the court as they did in past years. Most probably PPP will turn to its Sindh-card as now they have no moral and legal answer. I appreciate the Supreme Court's decision in such difficult situation and it is cleared that right now the Supreme Court is the only institution who is working hard for the supremacy of constitution and rule of law.

So the today's Bench APPARENTLY shifted the responsibility. PPP or any other party at its place will not be able to deliver or even will not survive because they never learn from the history. Power is their priority and they are not in the habit to bear any other party to rule the country for more than 2/3 years. They don't work together for the prosperity of their country. They joined hands and kicked out Musharaf, otherwise he was not leaving in near future. We know there are forces who will never let the democratic system run for so long. As the government completes its 3/4 years, they will take over / fecilitate take-over or come up in a guise with some fake issues to let the political leaders / Govt know "WE are the only power in Pakistan, WE are the BOSS". Until the political leaders/parties work together for the betterment of the country desipte the differences, those forces will continue to haunt the survival of the system and country. Biased actions of supreme institution should be stopped now.
The silent reservations of the PPP that PMLN, Judiciary and Media have joined hands against the Federal Govt (PPP) carry some weight. The Quota of Punjab province in every institution especially judiciary and army plays important role.

Timing is an important factor in this regard. Why NRO case resumed after two years? Why did SC let PPP ridicule law for two years and suddenly takes an action? Indeed, all cards are set against PPP.Establishment wants to get rid of the present govt ASAP. It is also heard that Zardari is leaving for Dubai again. Things are going to heat up a great deal.

well, it has now been very clear that the govt. days have been counted. Actually, the matter is that, the govt. it self wants to quit being siyasee shaheed but on the other hand, the judiciary and the military are just waiting and watching the game of govt. which probably has been finished. Conclusively, one can understand that the govt. has miserably failed to govern and to overcome the problems faced since its period and their respect and honor is to quit and early elections. un ka awam par ihsan hoga k wo hamaree jaan chore.

Well what i believe that PPP is miserably failed to deliver on Governance Front..but those who believe Judiciary to be the only saviour of country and pursuing the right path , are mistaken.

Current Judiciary is the most powerful one in the history of Pakistan. But what CJ has done for citizenry at large ? He could have done a great serve to the people , had he improved the judicial system that exclusively falls under his jurisdiction. Please go to lower courts, see the plight of an ordinary person. Judicial officers are engaged in politics , yes politics , by maintaining good relations with strong lawyers lobbies. Relief is not given on factual grounds, rather the face of lawyer matters. President of Bar will be obliged as much as the space available in the law.

Ironically this state of affair has emerged out of attitude of higher judiciary. They owe their reinstatement to the lawyers movement so they oblige them in as much as they can. if any dispute arise amongst Bar and Bench, the higher judiciary leans towards bar and advise its subordinates to settle the dispute. Recently , an additional Session Judge, Arif Niazi, from faisalabad tendered resignation after having been maligned and disgraced by lawyers. This is not the first incident of its nature, rather it has become routine.

The perception that Judicial gun are targeting PPP whereas other issues have been held in abeyance, carries weight. If this poor nation can afford 184 serving Generals in only one arm of armed forces, than constitutionally elected Govt. must have been pardoned on the mistakes of past. The current CJ and his collogues defied their oath by lending legitimacy to Musharaf Coup , but latter on they admitted it to be their fault(violation of oath amounts to dishonesty) and pardoned themselves(this is what can be presumed).

That said, only one year is left from the tenure of incumbent Govt. They should not be lent the title of "Political Martyrs". Let them complete their term.

Default PM Gilani may quit to ease pressure on President Zardari

LONDON: The Times has disclosed, quoting a Pakistani military official, that the generals would “only step in if asked by the senior most judge in Pakistan.”

The disclosure is included in a report filed by two reporters of The Times, Francis Elliot and Aoun Sahi, who reported that “following the (corps commanders’) meeting, a military official told The Times that the generals would only step in if asked by the most senior judge in Pakistan.”

“There is no chance of a coup in Pakistan right now. The military is not going to allow the PPP to become political martyrs,” the newspaper said. Quoting the military officer, The Times said: “We believe in democracy and the Constitution of the country and we are looking towards the Supreme Court. We will consider helping implement (the) court’s decision if civil authorities fail to implement it.”

These words attributed to the Pakistan Army are the first direct signal that the army generals would follow the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan if they were asked to help implement the judgments of the SC under Article 190.

The Times report also made the disclosure quoting “some observers” who predicted that Prime Minister Gilani may be considering to resign as part of a move to deflect the pressure on the president and regain the moral high ground for the government led by President Zardari’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The newspaper report said President Zardari has also asked Aitzaz Ahsan, a leading lawyer and former ally of his late wife, Benazir Bhutto, to conduct secret negotiations with the court. Aitzaz Ahsan is also being tipped as a possible replacement for Gilani.

PM Gilani may quit to ease pressure on President Zardari
