We should not forget that both Turkey and France are secular states. And this is not the case with Pakistan even though Jinnah wanted a secular state. We cant apply just desired things of good nation in our country. If we really want to see Pakistan like turkey then we have to apply its every policy. If not then we should not talk about it. If we really want see our country like turkey, we have to first make it secular state because in turkey even having 90% Muslim population it is secular.
Right direction is very important whether it's about evolution or revolution. It's agreed that we have to change even this change is slight because the same way we are not going to achieve anything good. We have to slowly change every aspect of our country. And this slow change should be in positive way.

Why we just mention drone attacks?? why we dont talk much about Taliban's attacks which directly kill Muslim girls, brothers in mosque and innocent child and their parents??? In drone attacks at least these talibans also targeted. If we had the same technology we would have been killing these taliban's and with taliban we would also be killing civilian. The same we saw in liyari operation. why we are a nation with double standard.
Very well assessed Irtika.

In pakiatan evolution means transfer of power between pml and ppp or alternative periods of democracy and dictatorship:(. This hegemony of two parties and millitary cant be challenged...
Revolution....no way! We are so much disintegrated that notion of revolution is mere an eye wash. So we are destined to face it...

Revolution is said to take place when something completely changes ways of thinking, methods of working, etc. Whereas, evolutions a gradual development and change in ideas, situation, etc. As a matter of fact, it is observed that revolution has precedence over evolution. For one thing, revolution has always proved fruitful because evolution was nothing before revolution. It was revolution that gave worth to the evolution. Revolution, that took place in the past, completely changed the lives of the people.

Industrial revolution, in 18th and 19th century is a case in point. This revolution removed the outdated methods of production and introduced new methods of production so that man’s work could be made easy. It now saves time of the workers. By using machinery, production level has also increased coupled with less consumption of time and money. By the same token, Glorious Revolution in 1688 is another milestone in the history. It ended monarchs’ unchecked power in the Great Britain. It also, ultimately, paved the way for democracy there. Similarly, French revolution, in 1789, ended tyrannical rule of monarch in France; and people breathed sigh of relief. Then, American Revolution or war of independence from 1775 to 1783 is another revolution that established democracy. Similarly, history is full of many other examples of revolutions that proved beneficial for the common man; and now people reaping the benefits of it.

Revolution brought those changes which evolution could not do in its entire life; it would be safe to conclude that revolution is far better than evolution.

Revolution in Pakistan is not more than a nightmare and for people no true leader to bring revolution. Our people can't raise their voice for their problems. We need a great revolution that would change all the stereo type environment and biased of judiciary.

Well, you are right in the sense. Evolution is a centuries long process during which people continue to suffer and in the end, it is even not able to change any thing on its own. But you see, you can not separate evolution and revolution. Their co-existence is inevitable. Every revolution fails that is not preceded by Evolution. every evolution is useless if it is not succeeded by a revolution to complete the change process.

Industrial revolution (or American revolution) were not instantaneous (such that millions of people coming out demanding we are sick of farming lands we want factories now :D), those labels are set for periods of time when increased human knowledge transformed the economies and the way of life. If looked upon it that way then it reveals that revolution comes when one evolutionary path reaches a dead end and evolutionary journey finds a new path :D. These revolutions are always happening, such as right now we are going through a globalization and information revolution.

On the other hands an instantaneous revolution as we in Pakistan commonly conceive it (political revolt, like when millions of people come out violently demanding a change in government or whatever) is just a show of frustration which people display when their system is not delivering as much as others'. These are not real revolutions, they can most probably be termed mere revolts when people blame their leaders for their failures. Although they can be helpful in changing the system or leadership or at-least the behavior of leadership, we must not make a mistake of expecting a real change from a mere revolt.

Agreed; in fact, yes evolution and revolution go side by side. it is evolution that paves the way for revolution. Once revolution takes place the task of evolution starts again. But one thing which I believe on is that revolution does not rely totally on evolution but evolution does.
But one thing which I believe on is that revolution does not rely totally on evolution but evolution does.
Well my opinion on that is vice versa :), because if we take your stance it would be like first humans on earth brought the industrial revolution; however that is not the case, it took thousands of years of evolutionary learning before humans were able to form complexly organized industrial societies and bring about industrial revolution :). Or if the first ever appearance of humans on earth is considered a revolution then it would be ok to say that evolution comes after revolution :D.

As for the topic of this thread, sure a revolt brings a relief for poor masses because it is often the only way that helps change (or keep a check on) the attitude of rich masses in existing systems :D, however revolts never bring lasting changes instantly; for that you again have to wait for evolution to find a right path else poor masses will be facing same problems again after a while.

For poor masses the only lasting way out is a religious revolution when God's command for the poor to be patient and rich to give to poor is fairly established on earth :D. Poor masses must remain patient and wait for divine mercy and help instead of indulging in crime and revolting all the time :D. Experiment of a classless society (Marxism) without religion was a revolutionary idea but it proved to be a failure in the long run, therefore I think only God can help poor masses :).
