The apex court ordered the prime minister’s arrest during a hearing of the rental power projects case.

The bench ordered the arrest of 16 persons, including the premier, and directed the authorities to present Prime Minister Ashraf in court tomorrow.

The prime minister has been accused of receiving kickbacks and commission in the RPPs case as minister for water and power.

In the case, nine RPPs firms were accused of receiving more than Rs22 billion as a mobilisation advance from the government to commission the projects but most of them did not set up their plants and a few of them installed them but with inordinate delay.

there is no connection between long march and SC's order. Media got stories and trying to connecting these two things. Media is showing as Tahir ul Qadri is backed with supreme court but facts are totally different. When we look at the facts, it is clear that supreme court was following this case for about last six month (as sc's decision of March 2012 was set aside by the Government) and for last few days supreme court was hearing to this case with much more speed and in a result today this order is in front of us.
Right decsion. but is thier any immunity / examption available in our constitution to Prime Minister:thinking
immunity is only for President and Governors.
PM could not avail this facility.

in my perception the decision is right but, not at the right time as beloved country is facing long marches for electoral reforms and governor raj in Baluchistan.it will derail the democratic processas the country is set to head towards general elections in couple of months.it will also distort the soft image of our dear homeland, seems that supreme court has taken this decision in a hasty way.definitely our already fragile economy will further suffer and the prognosis are seeming gloomy.
over to u guys

I dont think it should derail democratic system. But it should strengthen our democracy. It will convey our politicians and the world as well that a politician may also be convicted for a crime and there is no free hand to them in pakistan.
Economy? Mr PM is the responsible of power outage in the country thus destroyed the economy as well.
