Question why christians are facing miseries in pakistan

salam to all members,
i am starting a discussion on the miseries of christians in pakistan. wat in ur opinion are the causes of their miseries? why this minority group is neglected and not given proper respect and their rights in the society. why are they considered as second class citizens and are practically at the lowest level in our society. why do we always think of petty jobs when we talk about christins.why the doors of the jobs and entries to get education at lower and higher levels have been closed for poor christians?

WITH THIS CRITICAL SITUATION, THE CHRISTIANS WILL ENTER INTO THE 21st CENTURY. SHALL THE CHRISTIANS MARCH INTO THE 21st CENTURY AS SLAVES--ILLITERATE, SUFFERING IN EXTREME POVERTY, AND UNEMPLOYED AND UNDER SEVERE ISLAMIC DOMINATION, NO MORE A FREE CITIZEN OF PAKISTAN?
share ur views

Wsalam,

Christians is a minority group and here in Pakistan, discrimination between sectors of Muslims and; Muslims and non-Muslims is augmenting with every passing day. Minorities should be treated appropriately. Quiad-e-Azam always had foccussed this issue.

On the other hand, Chritians are ameliorating as well. on Chrismis eve, I hav seen a number of documentries regarding them showing their development in Pakistan. But over all situation is miserable. It is responsibility of govt and pakistanis as well to admit the importance of minorities and majorities too.

Regards,

hmmmm... i do know a number of christians personally, they are not in bad conditions and enjoying their life in Pakistan very welll.....

This is not a viable notion that they are not doing good or deprived of facilities, one can find christians in better positions not only in services but also in business, industry and farming etc.

Wa alaikum as salam!
I will agree with Tabassum bhai. I study at Edwardes College Peshawar which is run by a Christian principal and named after a Christan too There are many Christian teachers who enjoy a great, respectful and dignified life. Not to mention, the respect comes from students which are, in 90% of the cases, Muslims. On Christmas and Easter, they enjoy holidays and media usually gives them a lot of attention.
On the other hand, if you look at other countries, say USA, you'll find that there are no Eid holidays or anything of the sort. And the condition of practising Muslims (like parda observing women) in Western countries is well-known to you. I am saying this because I feel that the Western media is always portraying us as discriminatory towards minorities, which is highly unjust and completely unjustified. (Wallahu Aalam!) This is what I feel personally; others may not agree with me.

Best regards,
Abdul Rehman.

AoA,

Abdul Rhman brother,

Agreed!!!

If we say that christian are in poverty, then what about the over all poverty of Pakistan???? (one thrid of Pakistanies are poor)

International Media used such propaganda against Pakistan. They want to break-up of our society, through cultural imperialism. Through this minority issues they will create new regional issues, i.e some regions are getting more than the other and its discriminition, some regions of the country are used to collected most of the revenue and then it is distributed to other parts ( I am not mentioning the names because of I don't want to be the disjointer rather an integrator).

I think we need to be realistic in some forms that what is Pakistan?? what are our resources, still the element of corruption is there, but how WESTERN nations (so called human rights champion) are doing. Take the case of France as mentioned by Abdul Rehman.

I can share you the personnel experience of some INGOs that after the earthquake they discriminated and hired Christian who were not having experience and necessary qualification, just because they are Christian and they discriminated agains qualified Muslims.

So don't be so critical in those terms.

I agree with you cent-per-cent!!! I will add one more example to your account:
For 60 years, no one even thought, keep aside asking, of changing the name of our province. Suddenly, from nowhere, the issue got heated to an extremely intolerable level. Is this all just a pure coincidence? We must be betraying ourselves if we say yes!

Thanks!
Yours truly,
Abdul Rehman.
