Dr. Allama Tahir ul Qadri had move a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the constitution of Election Commission. On the first hearing of the case today the court has asked him how a foreign national can move such a petition ?

It is going to be a very interesting case and lets see what happened next.

Perhaps his petition will be accepted for proper hearing because a dual nationality holder can caste vote.

However, another important aspect, which honourable Supreme Court Judges took was the Canadian nationality of Sheikh ul Islam Tahir ur Qadri as to what were the reasons/needs /urgency /motives to get Canadian nationality which could not be completed with Pakistani nationality. The Supreme Court asked Sheikh sb to read out the wordings of oath taken for the Canadian nationality, he was not remembering the words nor was having any copy of it, upon which an honourable Judge of the Supreme Court read out the oath, which is somewhat like;

"I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen."

I do not fully understand the meaning of true allegiance and faithfulness but perhaps it may be something like 'bait'! .... With due respect, it can imply that Sheikh ul Islam sb ny Queen Elizabeth ki bait kar li! I hope my such saying does not fall under the domain of blasphemy!! If it falls then moderators please delete words because with my full heart and mind I am ardent believer of Islam and wholly sholely follow the trust injunctions of Islam ...

I do not think it will have any major impact on the outcome of the filed petition, I was listening to the remarks of Babar Awan, few hours ago, who gave many examples in which the foreigner or dual national citizen's case had been heard by the same bench. Another lawyer was of opinion that Judges often put these questions to know the real motive behind the petition, to eliminate any factor of disintegration.

Well He can cast vote but He cannot be a member of Parliament according to the constitution as Chief Justice Mr. Iftikhar Chaudhry sb. gave these remarks against his petition.
