Nice discussion, all respected members presented their point of view very well.I just add a bit to unhide another aspect of the episode.Well it is well said that the civil services of Pakistan, once held in high esteem, are in tatters today.Ok let i consider it right.But on grounds reality devolution plan just weakens the authorities of DMG's but not abolish them.Second thing we should keep in mind that current govt. is a military govt. and all major posts are taken by military elites.So how does gap creates for DMGs for different elite posts.Second, one of my relative currently working as DCO is of the view that people(Common man and Politician both) now have see the drawbakcs of New devolution plan and wanted to revise the autorities of division. I can forsee the future of CSPs quite fine after end of dictatorship and even in current scenario they are working very fine. I just here mentioned a list of army personnel currently occupying the major posts!!!!

Just for your info, the material u copied from net is quite obselete. For example, Syed Iftkhar Hussain Shah is no more Governor NWFP(Pukhtoonkhwa) and same is the case with Moinuddin Haider.

Najabat Monday, February 12, 2007 05:04 PM

Sorry for the mistake,Yup offcourse net was my source for the list,but dear Thinking my motive was to clear the role of Army Personnel in current Military regime.There are others like Tauqeer Zia(Chairman PCB).I also didn't mention MR President who is also from PAK Army and have two ranks at same time.Nways sorry if my info hurt you.Since i don't go for words but for what they reflects:-)
Thanks for correcting me.But ur style was hmm leave it.Keep smiling.

@najabat

I totally agree with you. My post was just for the sake of correction. Sorry if it offended u.

Hitman Monday, February 12, 2007 07:13 PM

You are dead right...There is no prestige left. All selected officers are below average thats why three ASPs yesterday has refused to go to Baluchistan after their appointment.

fatima3k Monday, February 12, 2007 07:28 PM

@Hitman

My question is about Quota system.Has it hurt merit.Look that a candidate (say from a province of Punjab is assighned Postal group , whereas another candidate (from another province like Sindh ,,and far below the first in total marks ) is asighned Income Tax.What we can say about this?
