Really the water which is coming from India is not only integrated for our crops but also used for drinking purpose in some cities of Pakistan , and India is making Dams on these but guys bee cheerful because as all the rivers in Pakistan except some are coming from India likewise all the rivers in India except some are coming from China which is also making much larger Dams as compared to India and you know China is dependent on us because of Gwadar port and of course we both are also good friends so we can control Indian hegemony on water through China but this is also indispensable for Pakistan to make Dams , because Indian Dams are causing the floods in Pakistan and we should not completely depend on China and should make such policies that we can resolve this matter by our self but overall matter is not so much critical that we can not control it .

The Asian Development Bank has warned us in a report. summary of the said report is as follows.
"Pakistan, which has failed to construct any major water reservoir for the last 40 years besides facing Indian aggression on the water front, is said to have the storage capacity of only 30-day supply as against the recommended 1,000 days for countries with similar climate. This situation, is also very threatening for the agriculture output, which is the backbone of the country’s economy, and requires immediate attention of the government to address the issue of water management and building of additional reservoirs. Water demand exceeds supply, which has caused maximum withdrawal from reservoirs. At present, Pakistan’s storage capacity is limited to a 30-day supply, well below the recommended 1,000 days for countries with a similar climate. Climate change is affecting snow melt and reducing flows into the Indus River, the main supply source. http://www.thenews.com.pk/Todays-New...ays-Asian-Bank |

I think that the problem of Pakistan is not only the shortage of water but also storage of water. Pakistan faced floods this year too. We need to construct Dams on urgent basis,So that we can avoid wastage of water.
One more thing that i would like to highlight is role of Multi-nationals like Nestle. They should be stopped from stealing our water. Because water is essential for life and we need to stop its privatization .Otherwise , We will have to encounter more cases like Bhati Dilwan (Water level sank there from 100 to 300 to 400 feet due to the extraction by Nestle plant).This problem may seem minute now, but will lead to starvation in future if not handled immediately. |

Some other disadvantages that we are going to face in coming years are;
1. groundwater level is declining rapidly 2. severe droughts and long dry periods with out rains 3. acute water shortages for agri, domestic and industrial uses 4. glaciers are melting rapidly due to global warming and accumulation of carbon particles from indian steel industry on our glaciers giving them blackish color absorbing more solar heat 5. dry periods after sessions of frequent floods as intact ice is melting at detrimental levels what you think?

I totally agree with you. As Pakistan is agricultural country and its economy,local and international market and its survival is at stake if water level continue Dilapidating. Concerned authorities should put this matter on international forums as it is only way to survival for an agro-based country.
