AoA

dear nayab, first of all welcome in the forum,

i hope that you would be learning a lot in the forum and would also be contributing well in discussions

perhaps it is not the short test of knowledge, it really involves vision and certainly views of mine would/may differ with those of yours or any other

1) islam is a complete religion, explain.

the essence of Islam is complete submission to the Allah and living ones live according to the teachings revealed through HIS last Prophet (PBUH)

actually from complete religion we get that Islam teaches one on all aspects of of the life either it is about daily doings, business, relations with others, war, teaching/learning etc. this has not been so in any religion prior to Islam

2) what r the causes of national disharmony and how to solve this problem?

there are a number of causes for national disharmony, the foremost can be termed as sectarianism/provincialism. since inception of the country the seed of provincialism had been sowed, at that time the main contention was with regard to Bengali and Punjabi, later it was transformed into Balochi, Sindhi, Pathan, Punjabi. there are a number of factors involved in it (both internal and external), however, as per Ch Muhammad Ali, the fifth prime minister of Pakistan ''very less people are bestowed of the virtue to consider all with the same eye'' meaning most of people go with the stride thus the bias increased day by day

3) the people of pakistan are muslim but they do not follow islam. can we call them muslim and how to bring them on the path of islam?

hmmm, intresting question, dear would u b kind enough to tell me what country follow Islam and which sort of islam

look there are only two ideological states in the world, one is Pakistan and the other is Israel

so it can be said it is the only country gained on the name of Islam to profess teachings of Islam, and so far as implementation of islam is concerned, it can be done by education and by telling the people the benefits of Islamic rule, which can only be done by being example to it

----

opened for views/criticism/suggestions

Default I guess its my turn...

Salaam Nayab,

I present my views as:

1) islam is a complete religion, explain:

Dear this question purely relates to a comparative analysis of different religions with Islam. For understanding the greatness of Islam you need to have some sort of knowledge about the previous religions.

In Quran, Allah has declared that Christianity and Judaism (herbewism) were also his religions. But the title of "a complete code of religion" is only reserved for Islam. Besides them... we have two other very famous religions named Buddhism and Hinduism. The divinity of these religions is suspected till yet.

The teachings of Hinduism are very limited. It's biggest characteristic is the caste system.

The teachings of Buddhism are also limited. It contains nearly 8 teachings and only 5 not-to-do's. There is no book in Buddhism. All these teachings were left by Gautam Budh in the air and are transferred from generation to generation.

The teachings of Juddaism were somewhat extensive but later on adulterated. Its basic beliefs were

1) existence, oneness, non-material and sovereignty of God.
2) Hazrat Mussa was the greatest prophet
3) Day of judgement
4) coming of christ
5) belief in torah
6) belief in messenger
and many more..

The christianity was endowed the bible, but it as its precendents, was adulterated.

The basic beliefs of christianity include the trinity and old testament etc. Some even believe that Jesus was the son of God and all that.

Besides all these beliefs... the divine religions were well-versed in moral teachings.

Hence.... in present day world... we can simply call all those religions as Moral Systems but not religions. They are not in their pure form.. and whatever in them is not in consonance with the holy book of Islam "Quran" is invalid.

But besides all that... Islam has a comprehensive set of beliefs and some special modes of worship. Its holy book is Quran which, even after 1400 years is present in its pristine form. Nothing has changed... not even a single letter.

Islam is not simply a set of moral principles. It has the capability to mould itself with the changing times. It has the sources of laws like: Quran, Hadith, Sunnah, Ijma, Qiyas, Ijtehaad and Estehsaan etc. All these can implement the laws of Islam with the help of changing times.. hence islam is a religion for all times.

Besides that... Islam, unlike its precedent religions does not only have a moral system but also a political, social, judicial as well as economic system.

It has the guidance for every aspect of life (which was absent in the previous ones)

God himself says in the Quran that this is the only final, valid and complete religion in the world now.

Hence this way I call it a complete code of life.

For further clearance I would recommend you to watch the programme of Dr. Zakir Naik on Q-TV. Trust me... that guy is really intelligent and the programme is really interesting. Dr. Zakir is an expert in comparative analysis of different religions.

I guess its enough for today. i will reply the other quetsions tomorrow... i am tired of typing...

by the way, it isnt' a short test!

Regards,
Adil Memon

So for as I m concerned.......
(1) A short and sweet reply is “Islam is a complete code of life and afterlife”. Islam not only deals with the problems of this world efficiently but also the problem of salvation of afterworld. This is why we call it Din e Fitrat i.e. any rational human being can find Islam and its teachings appealing. This is why so many sages, warriors and statesmen have paid humage to Islam and Holy Prophet (SAAW). Look at the example of Bernard Shaw, Napoleon etc etc…..
(2) The main cause of disharmony (and almost all problems we are facing today) is “The lack of a sound political leader ship which truly represents the Pakistani ppl and Pakistan.” You know soon after Pakistan came into being, The two great political figures who could have made Pakistan to be in its real sense, Quaid e Azam and Liaqat Ali Khan died and since then our politics has been subjected to the ppl who simply not represent true Pakistani. Love (rather lust…) of power and wealth has turned many a noble Macbeth into tyrants…. And same is the case with us. Our politics has been subjected to Feudal lords, Religious clerks, Military dictators and Business Big shots who never met with the true demands of our national identity. Mr. Zia ul Haq raised the slogan of “Jihad and Islamic laws” and drove Pakistani ppl into hands of fundamentalists who respect of nothing even Islam and Muslims are not safe from them. Then we see Pervaiz Musharaf beating his drum of “Enlightened Moderation”, irrespective of the feelings of a Pakistani Muslim, he wants to impose his own Agenda. I tell you wherever there has been a one man show (Ghulam Mohammad, Ayyub Khan, Bhutto etc), Pakistan and Pakistanis have suffered. We need Political figures who represent our true selves, and Pakistan.
(3) Good heavens!!! Dear young lady who tells you such……nonsense (pardon me). People of Pakistan do follow Islam and this is Islam and Religious minded part of our society that Pakistan still survives. Islam is in the very blood and fiber of a Pakistani Muslim. Havent you noticed a dashing smashing type of sophisticated lady when listens to Prayer call (AZAN), she quickly covers her head with dopattah no matter what it causes effect on her looks. This is a great blessing of Islam that it gives you a sense of distinction….. when a Muslim does something wrong, he knows that he is committing wrong and this feel of guilt one day can make him a true Muslim. Islam is in very DNA of us Pakistani Muslims and you can feel it in different aspects of our society. This is why Pakistan still exists in spite of weak judiciary, corrupt beurocracy and other heavy odds.

Default The next run

Salaam guys...

Thanks for promoting the discussion to a higher level.

@ Tabassum: Thanks brother.
@ Muqeet: Smashing... I love humorous expressions... good job!

I accomplish my left-over task today... the committment is fulfilled now!

2) National Disharmony - Causes and Remedies:

The causes are:
1) Lack of Democracy
2) Political Instability
3) Injustices
4) Lack of Federalism
5) Deficiency of Inter Provincial Affection
6) Illiteracy

(It is hard to describe all the history systematically ... don't mind my disorganized post)

Pakistan since its very inception has lacked a sincere and wise leadership. Quaid-e-Azam died after 1 year of the Independence and Liaquat Ali Khan was shot dead after 4 years. Since then... the country has been handled like a toy at the hands of political maniacs.

In the neighbourhood of Pakistan, india had a firm leadership of Nehru for 17 years. it was able to manage its constitution within 3-4 years however a stable constitution for our country nearly took 26 years.

Between all this time political intrigues carried on... governments kept changing.. the rat race continued... then comes the millitary intervention... Thus a complete political stability is totally absent from the country since its very inception. People don't like this... it creates a state of anger in their hearts. They don't want to be thrust upon at any cost... they resort to violence which subsequently leads into disintegrations...

The vivisection of the country was based on INJUSTICES:
A justified demand of bengalis to set bengali the national language with urdu was denied. (I really don't know why)

The bengalis were rejected from the armies for an excuse that their heights were short. (ridiculous)

The bengalis were not given the proper proportion in the bureaucracy.

The bengalis were not provided with an army to secure their borders

The development was brought in the west pakistan irrespective of the chronic poverty in the bengal.

investments flowed in the West Pakistan rather than in East Pakistan

The bengalis were not given proper representation in the assemblies.
(When Quaid was Governor General the powers lied with him... but when Khuwaja Nazimuddin (a bengali) became the governor general the powers shifted to the Prime Minister. wasn't it injustice?)

All these injustices incited anguish in the hearts of people... the process took some 24 years to ultimately make two halves of the country.

the scenarios of the country changed with changing governments. Democracy was not visible in the far-away-sights (and still isn't).

The prevailing crises of disharmony are generally within Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.

Balochistan has some scores to settle with the central government. Sindh and Punjab have been fighting since the early 20th century over the water crises.

Balochistan... played a huge role in the independance movement of the country.. it is the rich in resources area... it provides natural gas and other minerals to the whole country... but casting a glance over it reveals that it is the most underdeveloped area despite being the richest one? Central Government has extracted the benefits from the resources of that area but never though to do something good for that province. There have been several clashes of Balochistan and the Central Government which can be revealed by reading its history.

Sindh and Punjab have been fighting over water nearly since 1900. Punjab has periodically been stopping the flow of water towards Sindh to reduce it to a desert.

In 1948 when India stopped the flow of water into Pakistan through its headwaters, Punjab immediately entered into a secret deal to hand over the eastern water (the water that irrigated sindh) to india and accepted the claim of India over the western rivers as well. From 1948 Punjab received the water from the western rivers however the eastern rivers that irrigated sindh stayed blocked by India :d. Thus the seed of discord has been sown in the DNA of the country.

Punjab couldn't sate its desires to destroy sindh until it introduced new dams on the rivers. The latest one; the most controversial one that has stuck up in political intrigues since 1953 is Kalabagh. The dam is detrimental for sindh and Punjab is hell bent to construct it.

(This water-dispute might be fabricated... I read all this from a writer of Sindh. Please don't curse me for it)

ABSENCE OF TRUE FEDERALISM
Pakistan according to the constitution is a federal state. But is it really the truth?

Lets see...

IN a federal state the provinces should enjoy equal status.

The division of seats in National Assembly (the house that is more powerful) is made on the basis of population. This gives rise to more seats to punjab and lesser representation to the others. This create disparities and I call it FAVOURITISM.

Punjab has been enjoying an upper hand since the inception of Pakistan. The army even at that time was bulked with Punjabis and the same situation is prevalent in the current circumstances as well. The punjabis generally have a high quota in the army. The punjabi army officers are spread all over the country. (I am an eye-witness of the presence of Punjabi Army officers in the regiment of my city Hyderabad).

(I personally don't agree but its a general conception that Punjabis treat the people from other provinces as second-rated citizens. So eventually the people of other provinces have bad views about Punjabis)

The majority of the officers in the country are punjabis. Politics is filled up with punjabis. Everywhere, everywhere, Punjabis are everywhere..

If a big punjabi official is appointed in Sindh. He doesn't employ the local people for the labour work, but, brings his own people from the province to get employment. (My Uncle told me, who works in OGDCL)

Different rulers came and forced their agendas down the throat of the people.
(This point has already been mentioned by Mr. Muqeet)

People are unaware of the evil designs of the politicians. The politicians snap their fingers and people dance to the tune.

I have tried to state the instances of the history to qualify my answers... I know they are disorganized but the objective is to give you a basic idea of the internal situation!

Remedies:
implementation of democracy in true letter and spirit
Justice should be done (proper education should be imparted)
Political situation of the country should be stable... no kick outs before the terms
The application of true federalism
(divide punjab or transfer powers to the Senate that has equal representation from all quarters)
Mass awareness should be generated. media can play a good role emphasizing the importance of unity..

I am tired.. ONCE AGAIN!

how about replying your third question tomorrow!

Regards,
Adil Memon
