All respected memebers are right that army is not the only solution. We cannot rely on army for every problem. Calling army is an extreme situation. Army should be working on eliminating terrorist not the citezen of biggest karachi.
And there is will there is way.......!! All people need to play there due role because this is very serious issue and is not the easy one. And karachi is mostly city of MQM so MQM is mostly responsible for current situation. If this party can shut city for one day then why it cannot bring peace in the city. We already lost much more and this is time to act without army....!!! |

Being a citizen of Karachi and as an observer of the situation, army is not the final solution for Karachi. Despite of the fact that Karachi is bleeding since more than two decades. Time has gone when Karachi was the city when people felt themselves secure. Now, the tyranny and fear is everywhere. Karachi can be crippled within seconds at any time.
This is all due to power struggle by different political parties among them. In order to strengthen themselves, they threaten innocent citizens. Government is responsible to maintain law and order in city but it should not be at the cost of military presence in Karachi. I just ask a question to that political party leaders who are demanding military operation that why they cried when this operation was done in 1990s. Karachiites need peace but not the military presence. |

foreign hands are also involved in the bloodshed of karachi which are sheltered under different parties flags......intelligence agencies has given the names of 458 target killers, gangsters and bhata khor...it is the need of hour that action should be taken against these elements without any discrimination.

I appreciate the decision of Nawaz Sharif to assign the task of cleansing Karachi from criminal elements. He has made the wise choice between the 2 extremes of army and police. Rangers is the ideal middle path, they are least politicized and have the courage and capacity to deal with these elements.
Yesterday, few newspapers reported that PM is considering to form a new force to specifically deal with the worsening situation in Karachi. But giving the free hand to Rangers and creating intelligence and rangers synergy is the best solution currently possible. Even if the situation does not improve from these primitive steps than only solution remains is to call army. But, we should also consider that our army is fighting in the northern areas and India is giving threats every other day. So, it does not seem possible for army to fight at so many fronts. I don't consider the logic of MQM for demanding army. Why they did not ask for it when they were in government. This is just a leg-pulling tactic noting more. Considering if army arrives at Karachi, MQM is going to be the one most complaining. At least the government is keeping the first things first let it be terrorism, energy crisis or Karachi mafias. But, the last historic government was only interested in plundering the wealth of nation. All other parties apart from PPP were equally involved too. |

Karachi operation must not be one-sided.Targeted operations must also be carried out against religious extremist and sectarian outfits.Talibanisation and Al-Qaeda factor have witnessed an upsurge during recent years. If the government ignores the Taliban factor, peace will not be sustainable in Karachi.

MQM is not serious in solving the crisis, instead it wants to upset the ruling partie
The decision taken to launch an action against the culprits in Karachi was long awaited by not only the residents of the city, but also by the whole country because Karachi is the financial hub of the country, and its drowning business causes a huge setback to the whole economy of Pakistan. The party in main hold of the city since a decade or so is the MQM, which wants government by every now and then or atleast it wants to be heard by the ruling party to meet its own demands. Now when it is not in the government, it is pleased to demand a military operation in the city, while there is nothing that has changed from the situation that was present when MQM itself was in government in just the previous term. The same target killings and kidnappings for ransom continue at the same rate, so it is a point to be pondered that why this demand of calling the army into action was not made when the MQM was itself in the government.
This only leads us to conclude that the problem lies somewhere else. In my view, the problem is that at present the MQM is not at good terms and relations with the PPP; and specially the passing of the Sindh Local Government Law 2013 by the majority ruling party of the province (PPP) is disturbing the MQM. Thus to upset the PPP government to meet its demands, it is adopting the non-democratic channel. Otherwise, MQM has never been serious to solve the crisis in Karachi which it could successfully have done even during a single term whence in the government, while it has remained in the government many a times. |

All political parties have their interests in Karachi and that's why they are not serious to solve this issue permanently why situation is still worse after two operation by army previously because of political criminal wings who is involved in all criminal activities and these political parties provide them backup and also the city administration and other departments are involved in this matter. If government is serious to solve the issue so it is worthwhile to finish political influence in security agencies and bring those to justice at any cost who create disturbance and involve in criminal activities and give them punishment to make then and evidence for others.

Had the government been honest to solve the Karachi issue they would have done it without army by now, as everyone is well aware of the people behind all this. Call for army operation is MQM's excuse for has been incapable for uprooting the issue during its regime. Now the federal government is also giving them space on it. military operation will be both helpful and harmful.

MQM wants to become a Political Victim (Shaheed) to earn sympathies by mourning on dead bodies....
PML-N can not afford to allow MQM to exploit the situation so is shifting the gear slowly and cautiously. PPP is also waiting for the cat come out of the bag. They may criticize the government in both situations i.e Army Op or Rangers only. PML-N is not so doomed to let a chaos be created in Karachi by Army Op so that Media, Civil Society and Political Parties may have enough space to bring the government on its knees. Karachi is a large city with multi -ethnic groups and parties with militant wings. How a leader of a party on Earth can exist if he warns another political Party that he Would ask the people of his party to open their hands.....Every one has interest and one has to be very clear in mind first to bring these elements to justice........to whom, how and when such clarity of mind comes......only Divine knows. |
