Armed mugging on the rise

Some 69 persons lost their lives this week, of whom three were shot dead, 12 murdered, one committed suicide and five were burnt to death. Besides, 18 bodies were recovered, 24 died in accidents and six persons drowned.

At least 1,676 robberies were staged in which 1,315 mobile phones were snatched or stolen, around 67 cars and 101 motorcycles were taken away. People were deprived of valuables in 193 incidents. As many as 346 cases of thefts were reported this week, in which 91 cars and 159 motorcycles were taken away from the different parts of the metropolis.

According to the police data, 15 miscreants were arrested while 158 articles were recovered.

All the data regarding robberies, thefts, vehicles and mobile phones snatched and stolen were received by the police sources.

Last week, some 68 persons lost their lives, of whom five injured in the October 18 blast died, six were shot dead, seven murdered and five persons drowned. nine burnt to death. Besides, two persons committed suicide, 19 bodies were recovered and 19 died in accidents.

At least 1,649 robberies were committed in which 1,294 mobile phones were snatched or stolen and 65 cars and 101 motorcycles were taken away. People were robbed of valuables in 189 incidents. At least 336 cases of thefts were also reported last week.

According to the police data, 21 miscreants were arrested and 158 articles were recovered.
