Default Democracy is the art of possible

The new parliamentary government is about to form and it must be a launching pad towards the culture which is truest in its essence as far as democratic values and norms are concerned. Democracy can not function in an environment of intolerance, mutual recriminations and intrusiveness, so for smooth sailing of new government democracy as an institution has to perform and grow to its full stature in order to have a strong footing and high profile. A democratic polity is marked by the supremacy of the constitution and law.
Our country has been plunged into number of crisis in recent years and we all know that democracy is a panacea of all the evils and the country could be brought to right track by not repeating and reechoing the past mistakes.
One of the gigantic and the uphill task for the new government is to bring the country towards the normalcy and to curb and stop the ongoing spate of violence which has badly entangled the country. This could be only done if the so called proxy war is stopped and shunned. Peace truce must be initiated. Dialogues and negotiations must be given the due importance and weightage by the new government. The use of force has only multiplied the effect which has given birth to many complexities without producing the conducive results.
No body can deny the importance of executive parliament and judiciary as the three important pillars of the state and with the emerging role of media; it could undisputedly be added as the fourth pillar of the state projecting its role and pointing out the flaws and divergent views, therefore serving as voice of the nation. Democracy prevails and flourishes if these four prime institutions work without any hindrance and interference from any of the institution and perform their duties with in the spheres assigned to them. The new government must have to earnestly comply to the supremacy of institutions, as a factor towards the strong, stable and democratic Pakistan.
Another grave challenge which the new government would have to address the unemployment more seriously and more vigorously and the program must be launched to eradicate the poverty as these are the two main factors and root cause behind the extremism and violence.
Opposition must show grace in accepting the result and the new government must display the humility. New government could not run without taking into account the role of the opposition and without their active participation. The government would have to take the opposition into confidence pertaining to major issues and before chalking out their strategy on important factors of national interests.
The federating units must be given the due share and importance by the centre and the key issues be solved after national consensus.
Democracy is the art of possible and all the enigmas, sufferings and the state of conundrum could be unraveled and unscrambled if democracy prevails and performs to its truest senses.

apropos to your article MUHAMMAD ALI AWAN i must congrtaulate you that in these days of decadence and deteriorating law and order, you have found democray as the elixir for pakistan.i am writing a quote:please read it."Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve".Whether democracy comes in pakistan or not,we should acknowledge one harsh reality.muslims since the end of the four pious caliphs have failed utterly to evolve a system of social and political control.as long as the said system remains an unfulfilled task we shall hardly benefit from any political system.let it be oligarchy, aristocracy, plutocracy or democracy.i must quote faiz ahmed faiz."Hum dekhain gay lazim hay hum bhi dekhain gay,gab raaj karay ge khalk-e-khuda"
