Peace in the 21st Century

For some, peace is a luxury, for others it’s a dream,
For some peace is a birth right, for others it’s a mere fright,
For some it’s is a vanity fair, for others it’s a nightmare,
For some it’s a life style, for others it’s not even worthwhile…
This is the PEACE in 21st Century…

East and west, mighty and weak,
Rich and poor, all want peace…

But where is peace…???

Have a look around to see…
The memorandum of peace being written in the blood,
The statue of peace being erected over the graves of innocent,
The tale of peace being told by the cries of orphans,
The plethora of peace full of lies and deceit,
This is the PEACE in 21st Century…

Peace is a necessity that must be sought,
Terrorism is a plight that must be fought,
Yes, it’s a noble cause, but no amount of novelty can justify the massacre of humanity in the name of peace. The Crusade of Peace, triggered by 9/11, turns out more to be the crucification of Muslims, the ruthlessly killed Muslims, who have no names, who have no faces, but only the name of Islam and the face of terrorism.

The so called Operation Infinite Justice, to eliminate the imminent threat to world’s peace, the legend of O.B.Laden and the Myth of Weapons of Mass Destruction, everything seems to have evaporated into thin air and all that is left behind is a disaster, havoc and chaos.

Pretexting Islam as an adjective to terrorism, the first nation honored to get the Infinite Justice, the Afghans, where peace was dropped from air, with a package of more than 22000 cruise missiles and more than 30,000 air strikes. And it’s never a surprise to know that a fighter jet and a smart bomb is not smart enough to distinguish between civil and military targets,
And General Tommy Franks is very right when he says
“We don’t do the body counts”
Yes, they don’t even bother to count; they just kill and kill and kill…

And no wonder that this Holy Gift of Peace has left behind a legacy of half a million Orphans, 2 million crutches, six million refugees and thousands of those who ended in mass graves. The PEACE in 21st Century is less a PEACE than it is a blatant impunity, its cruelty, its brutality…

In today’s arena of globalization, the seed of war is a commercial and industrial rivalry, and the Bravado of Peace cannot conceal a Vampire Capitalism, the underlying truth that peeps through the cracks of contradiction. With the oil prices rocketing to the sky and the human blood becoming worthless, unrestrained by moral obligation, a blind pursuit of self interest, that crushes morality and humanity under its feet, and in this blind pursuit, all that you can possibly find, can be anything but not PEACE…

And then again, The God’s Work, The International Duty of Peace was performed in Iraq, where according to UNICEF; today 40% of the children say that life is not worth living, this is what is branded as the Trademark of Peace in the 21st Century. It’s hard to believe that a country be carpet bombed round the clock with minimum civilian casualties?
Where about one million perished due to economic sanctions, about 200,000 became the victims of the 1st Gulf war, the 2nd Gulf War took a death toll of 300, 000, the rest wait to be killed at the hands of suicide bombers and luckily if any survived all this Hell Fire, they are waited upon by the monsters of Hunger, Famine and Epidemic.

In an unprecedented wave of animosity where the hospitals reduced to rubble, the schools burnt to ashes, the houses leveled to ground, and all swept shamelessly under the thick carpet of Collateral Damage. With the flames rising high, the clouds of smoke covering the whole sky, the horrific violence, the ravaged cities, the scattered limbs of children, their heartrending cries, and the piles of mutilated bodies lying uncoffined in the streets of Iraq. Huh, the PEACE in 21st Century is a savage repression, full of barbarity, full of tyranny.

Thinking of Peace soaked in blood is like living in a fool’s paradise. While the atrocities against Palestinians continue, peace is but a dream if it has to come through a perpetuating Genocide. While the slaughter of humans and the disgrace of humanity continue, peace is but an illusion it has to come through trading blood for Oil. While the rain of Fire Balls continues in Iraq, Peace is but a disillusion if it has to come to through an installed constitution and a puppet regime.

Lest have faith that the Horrible Nightmare of peace comes to an end,
And a new day comes and brings with it the dawn of a new era,
An era of peace,
A peace that comes with impartial justice, and an unprivileged equality,
A peace that comes with honoring the cultural diversity,
And a peace that comes through sovereignty and respect for humanity,
And I wish that THE day is not too far…I wish and perhaps I can just only wish…
