Benazir murder case: British govt refuses to extradite Musharraf
RAWALPINDI: The British government has refused to extradite former president Pervez Musharraf in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, citing the absence of an extradition treaty between the two countries, according a report made public on Saturday.
An Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi heard the Benazir Bhutto murder case at the Adiala Jail today (Saturday).
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented the report from the British Home Department refusing to extradite Musharraf during the proceedings.
Earlier, the court had directed the FIA to contact Interpol for the arrest of Musharraf and present him in court.Sources said the FIA will request the court to declare Musharraf ‘wanted’ in the ongoing case.
