The President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony. The forum was held at the newly built Hilton where a beautiful view is opened to both the capital and Caspian Sea meeting the highest standards.
The Baku forum reviewed challenges of the 21st century from humanitarian standpoint. It discussed at length both positive and negative aspects of the globalizing world. A large number of delegates attended the Forum from all over the world. They included experts on economy, Information Technology, natural sciences, strategists, university professors, former presidents, media specialists, bureaucrats. Diplomats, cultural elites of the civil society, human rights activists and noble prize laureates.

The forum featured seven round tables entitled “Multiculturalism: accomplishments and problems”, “Modern technologies that change the world”, “Rapprochement of sciences”, “Biotechnology and ethics problems”, “Humanitarian aspects of economic development model”, “Social media” and high technologies” and “Traditional systems of values in post-modernist society”.

The deliberations were characterized by frankness. The speakers were simply superb as evident from the fact that the audience remained seated throughout the seven long sessions and for two consecutive days.
