FIA, NAB, police to probe Mailk Riaz’s case

slamabad: The Attorney General of Pakistan has constituted a three-member Joint Investigation Team which will probe the alleged payments made by property tycoon Malik Riaz to the Chief Justice’s son, Dr Arsalan Iftikhar.

According to sources, the Joint Investigation Team consists of the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, directors from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The Attorney General will monitor the Joint Investigation Team himself and then will submit the findings to the court.

The Joint Investigation Team will investigate the wife of the Chief Justice, his son Dr Arsalan Iftikhar, Hakeem Abdul Wahab, the suspected partner of Dr Arsalan, Malik Riaz, his son-in-law Salman Ali Khan and businessman Ahmad Khalil.

Former chairman Bahria Town Malik Riaz had accused Dr Arsalan of financial impropriety, claiming that he had taken bribes from him and promised to settle his cases pending in Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on June 14 had directed the Attorney General to proceed according to the law and take required action against business tycoon Malik Riaz, his son-in-law Salman and Dr Arsalan Iftikhar.
