CM Sindh: PPP needs him more than he needs PPP
The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has proven the fact that he is a competent politician capable enough to steer the people of his province out of crisis such as COVID-19 and inspire other politicians as well. He has emerged as mature politician who handles crisis by being at the driving-seat, guiding the residents of Sindh and at times cautioning and being harsh as a true leader does for the benefit of masses. Truly, leaders have to make tough choices. The tough choices, if they are not made in a timely manner, have potential to wreak havoc of disproportionate magnitude. The Sindh chief minister did what need to be done in the current state of affairs. He truly deserves due appreciation for taking all the measures even kept his political capital at stake. For instance, the powerful business lobbies, which enjoy significant clout, are certainly offended. Nonetheless, he is adamant in his struggle to contain coronavirus. His statement as reported by the Dawn newspaper that "he thanked PM Imran for building consensus on lockdown measure" deserves kudos as it is hardly a practice in third world country that politicians appreciate their opponents where needed. Contrarily, they are generous enough to criticise, but will shy away to appreciate where it is due. In critical times, some leaders emerge while others loose what they already have. Murad Ali Shah has emerged mature political with leadership skills with each passing day. His efforts will add, needless to say, extra votes for the PPP in the forthcoming local government elections. Indeed, the PPP needs him more than he needs the PPP.
