Nawaz dismisses OBL commission

MIRPUR - PML-N supremo and former Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf on Thursday outrightly dismissed the high-level commission formed to probe the May 2 Abbottabad episode, declaring that he was not consulted during the course of its formation.
Addressing an election rally of Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, a candidate of PML-N, in Rawalakot city of AJK on Thursday, he said the rulers have converted Islamabad into a corruption market and corrupt people are appointed in government and semi-government institutions.
Corruption is rampant in the country and 75 million population of the country is living below the poverty line while the rulers are busy in looting and plundering, he said. Corrupt elements are looting Rs500 billion every year, he said, and those responsible for taking action against them have become their heads, he added.
Referring to the recent whirl-wind tours of Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani to AJK as part of campaign for PPP candidates, Nawaz said that the prime minister was scared of the rapidly increasing popularity graph of Muslim League (N) in AJK like in rest of Pakistan.
The PML-N chief said the PML-N came to Azad Kashmir because public mandate was ignored and flatterers were honoured. “We know where the tickets are allotted, and where the prime ministers are made,” he said. He said that sham democracies and the dictatorial rules have left gravely negative impacts on the Kashmir cause.
Nawaz said that following the PML-N footsteps, the government functionaries are now reaching out to all parts of the AJK. He said the people of AJK should learn the lesson from the state of affairs in Pakistan due to the present rulers and should act wisely while casting their votes.
