What I meant by saying that was that in PAS/ Ex-PCS you are directly affecting the lives of masses. You can help people with your powers and authority. Secondly PAS/DMG officers are way ahead in prestige/pride than any other group be it IRS. AC PAS is like a don. You would be having a lot of govt vehicles/ people around you. You would be in limelight. I am not saying it in context of material gains.

Your brother would be drawing a low net pay, but if you account for house, vehicle, fuel and servants his remuneration would be higher than many other occupational groups. PAS officers are highly sought candidates by international donor agencies like World Bank, Asian Development Bank in Public-Private development projects. They get a lot of scholarships at the best universities of world.

I know 2 AC from PCS who (Nasar Abbasi & Naseem Abbasi) are working as district monitoring officers and Taluka (Tehsil) Education officer and drawing 1.5 lac per month salary in Sindh.

No these are not the concluding remarks. Just go through following document to get a fair idea how the transfer, study leaves and loan is going to be approved by respective authority by going through entire hierarchy up to the Board. Life for IIR is not that easy as you are thinking. I could not appear in PCS because my leave were not sanctioned which had to be approved from Board. Still no IJP granted & no TA/DA for field work.

There is a reason that I am recommending you to go for CSS & PCS/PMS.
