Whats the fuss guys? I don't know even one person who got permanent from this position (please correct me). Its not even a complete 1 year training. I've asked former trainees and they say these are all temp posts with no job at the end.
I doubt if there are many who are willing to take this post as its been such a long time and surely candidates might have grabbed other opportunities. Many may also have gone abroad/switched careers or simply got promoted to permanent positions. Recently OGDCL hired emplyees on contract basis (ad available on OGDCL website) although it says it can be extended but still its not permanent job. One must never sacrifice a permanent position for any contract post no matter how good the company. The former trainee I talked to said that it is very unlikely that OGDCL will hire for permanent posts in future as its already 'filled to the brim' with temps., contractors, interns etc and no retirements are happening in near future. |

Adding to the above. Halting this hiring through court orders may not be possible. One of the initial points raised by claimants was that OGDCL again advertised for these posts in 2014 and therefore court should intervene and order OGDCL to finish this recruitment before hiring further on same posts. I want to say that it is likely that after this hiring is dealt with OGDCL will be free to advertise again. Halting this process will only delay new hiring of trainees which you'll agree is not desirable.
