I heard that relief was granted up to 5 grace marks. Isn't it true?

The grace marks are given to those who do pass all the papers but fail in aggregate by 5 marks. Thus you are right to some extent.

Post @ Marwatlucky

You mean relief was granted to only those who have passed all the papers but were short of marks less than 5 in the aggregate?

Brother my experience of interview was not good. I prepared much better than what I replied on that day (I have to blame myself irrespective of what learned panel did, that's what decency requires). So I am not in a better position to give proper guidance. Just think how would it be when a bureaucrat interview you for a judicial post.

However, some suggestions for your satisfaction.
Six member panel, all are friendly especially the chairman. So no pressure, just go play your best.

1. Chairman is the first to start interview. the start might be from any remarks or straight away from your introduction. Have a look on your file, they may ask about degrees and extra knowledge certificate or courses you had mentioned.

2. Refresh you islamic knowledge before interview (including knowledge about Quran, islamic history and contemporary world and basic pillars). Most of them are religious except chairman who is a moderate personality. You will feel like its an interview for islamiat lecturer post. questions like Iman e mufasil, iman e mujjamal, faraiz in nimaz wazu etc

3. Grip on practical application of law in the field (this happened to me only on that day, the interview of the rest of the candidates were easy relatively and questions were straight forward) On this front, listen their questions carefully as they are not law professionals and their questions are mostly absurd. this was the most disturbing phase of my interview. they never asked any question from Acts or asked about sections, just practical questions like one of their questions was what is next step after preliminary decree? now there are many suits in which preliminary decrees are passed and have different procedures to be followed. So I replied if the suit is for rendition of accounts, following procedure is followed and they said no this is not the procedure and started explaining specific performance of a contract, so I replied ok sir thank you for the explanation. The only easy question was on what grounds plaint is rejected. My interview was based on civil side only, Specific relief act, cpc, succession, contract act and family laws. So if you are good on criminal side do tell them you do criminal practice for which you only need to answer in crpc and ppc.

4. Study constitutions, all three and important constitutional cases (Tamizuddin, Dosso Asma Jillani and Begum Nusrat bhotto as these are linked to each other).

5. they discussed Ayub's era SC current remarks about NAB...

I found all these cheeky questions hard to digest as I was not expecting these but it's an interview and nothing can be ruled out. For most of the candidates interview was easy as they were well prepared. You have a chance to make difference, so make it. Prepare yourself and stay close to Allah Almighty.
