Question 1. Derive Schrodinger’s wave equation. How it is applied to a particle in one dimensional box?

Question 2.(a). Give the postulate of Deby-Huckel theory and derive an expression for weak electrolytes.
(b). What is a Galvanic cell? How does it differ from an electrolytic cell?

Question 3.(a). Define first law of thermodynamic. Give its mathematical form.
(b). Derive the relationship between standers free energy change an equilibrium constant.

Question 4. What are Silicons? How are they prepared? Discuss their properties and uses.

Question 5. (a). What are the raw material of glass? How glass is manufactured?
(b). How Silver occurs in nature? How it is extracted from its ores.

Question 6. (a) .What are Transition Metals? Discuss their characteristics properties.
(b). Discuss how CFT. Explains the colors of the metal complexes.

Question 7. What is meant by air pollution? What are the major primary pollutants produced by human activity.

Question 2.(a). Give an example of 2nd order reaction ? Explain that hydrolysis of an ester is a pseudo first order reaction? Why?
(b) . What is the effect of temperature on the value of rate constant?
(c) Differentiate between adsorption and chemisorptions ?

Question 3. (a) How the surface area of a substance can be determined?
(b) Differentiate between homogenous and heterogeneous catalysis?
(c) What is conformation analysis?

Question 4. (a) Define fermentation ? Give its importance ?
(b) How primary, secondary , tertiary alcohol can be prepared from Grignard’s reagent?
(c) Explain the term Diazonium salts?

Question 5. (a). How aromatic amino compounds can be prepared on laboratory scale as well as industrial scale?
(c) Convert the following:
i). Benzene____ Benzophenone
ii). Benzene ------- Phenol
iii) Salicylic----------Aspirin
iv) Benzaldehyde-------- Benzoin
v) o-xylene--------Phathalic acid

Question 6. (a). How oils can be converted into fats? Give chemical reaction with catalyst?
(b) What are the benefits of vitamins for human body?
(c) Differentiate between monosaccharides, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides?

Question 7. (a) Give the preparatory methods for antibiotics?
(b). Give some examples
