Dear Last Island ,i completely agree with you. what you have said is true. But i have already wasted the money you see; i was actually intending to gain general knowledge through these books and improve my skills in the subject but right now it doesn't seem possible because passing in exams is more important since i have wasted the money already and valuing time i do not want to not appear in these exams. there is a great chance i will fail, but i'm hoping praying and trying that i pass. if i fail i'll reappear in supplementary. once i am through with examinations i will read the books curiously and for pleasure which i at the moment cannot because of the pressure and stress. so i'm in desperate need of tips and techniques that can help me in passing the exams smartly.
Dear RedRexx , yes! i guess thats what it was...the frustration that made me mention the correct dates with wrong month hehe! but great thanks for the offer...of course i want to avail it. how can i get notes from you for part 1 ? also, would you like to suggest some tips or techniques that can be helpful in making my answer sheet look impressive ? i mean some smarter way... i had started getting good marks in Urdu back in school after taking some smart guidance from a friend regarding how the pattern of answers should be for paraphrasing , essays and answers to other questions. one i know of is headings to the paras. Ms. Last island has clarified quoting exact lyrics from poetry and dialogs from the dramas is very important from the examiners point of view. another thing , i have to attend four questions in total including the compulsory question (e.g. in classical poetry question paper pattern) in each subject's examination, each question carries 25 marks ? this is what i understand from going through the past papers. |

The simplest tip is to avoid digression in the paper. It's usually difficult for students of literature to avoid deviation, but you cannot write a best piece unless you stick to one point. Besides quoting the original text as you have been suggested earlier, alluding or adding some anecdotes may also win you some extra marks. In questions which require comparison and contrast between two pieces of literature, you would need an strong argument to prove the superiority of one over the other by providing suitable examples. This is no way an easy task. It requires extensive preparation and of course keen observation of minute details. Thus, to prepare for the exam in a jiffy, you should try to finish reading the entire syllabus (summaries n reviews of course NOT the original text) at least once. Wish you Good Luck!

These are the questions that are mostly repeated in ELT paper. I once posted the outlines only. Ask your friend to buy an ELT book and make notes accordingly. I will try to post complete notes shortly.
