Respected Lady:

Listen, I did my MA Political Science(Private) from UoPEsh, 2011-2012...

@MA Political Science & MA IR:

-MA IR Papers:

1) History of IR
2) Basic Factors in IR
3) FP Analysis
4) Pak in world affair
5) Int and Regional Organizations
6) Public Int law
7) Politics of Int economic Relation
8) Strategic Studies

Two optional subjects from below:

1) FP of neighboring countries
2) The Int Politics of Middle east
3) The Int Politics of South Asia
4) South Asia in world affairs

-MA Political Science Papers

1) Govt and Politics in Pak
2) Political systems (Constitutions)
3) Political Philosophy
4) History and Principles of IR
5) Principles of Public Admin
6) Political Development, Social change and Research methodology
7) Muslim world and its political dynamics

Select 1 Group from below:

Group A)
1) Int Law and org
2) FP analysis and FP of USA, China, India and Pak
3) Politics of Int economic Relations

Group B)
1) Political and institutional Development in Pak
2) Economy of Pak
3) Pak in world affairs

Group C)
1) Western Political thoughts
2) Muslim Political thoughts
3) Contemporary Political thought

@MA Political Science is better:

Why:

Do MA Political Science with group A, Its much better than IR. This will cover many concepts of Political Science and IR. It will help you in many subjects of CSS and PMS. There will be many options with you in subject selection for CSS and PMS if you did MA Political Science. e.g:

Proof:

1) Govt and Politics in Pak = Pak Affairs paper of CSS and PMS 100 marks
2) 2) Political systems (Constitutions) = Constitutional Law 100 marks
3) Political Philosophy = Political Science 200 marks
4) History and Principles of IR = IR 100 marks
5) Principles of Public Admin= Public admin 100 marks
6) Political Development, Social change and Research methodology = Sociology 100 marks
7) Muslim world and its political dynamics = Current affair 100 marks

Select 1 Group from below:

Group A)
1) Int Law and org = Int Law 100 marks
2) FP analysis and FP of USA, China, India and Pak = Current affairs 100 marks
3) Politics of Int economic Relations = Current affairs 100 marks

Group B)
1) Political and institutional Development in Pak = Pak Affair 100 marks
2) Economy of Pak = Pak Affairs 100 marks
3) Pak in world affairs = Pak Affairs 100 marks

Group C)
1) Western Political thoughts = Political Science Paper A 100 marks
2) Muslim Political thoughts = Political Science Paper A
3) Contemporary Political thought = Political Science Papers A

The other important plus point with you would be the lectureship posts because Lectureship posts of MA Political Science are much more than IR. MA Political Science with group A is much better than IR.

I also did the same...... : )

so could you please tell me about the books? And i cannot do it in one year, right?? if exams are somewhere in August then it means I have ample time to start my prep..i am basically interested in clearing my concepts?? plus can you suggest some good books for understanding this subject in more detail..

respected lady,i have also done M.A POLITICAL SC from peshawar university in 2005-06 with the same combination as mentioned by dear marwat.marwat has clearly stated that it MA POL SC is far better than MA IR,as ma pol sc is a wide subject covering all aspects of modern politics.same is my suggestion to yoy ,if you are intersted.

@Shah 24
I think you can appear as a private candidate however, in order to appear as a regular one, every university in Pakistan would demand for at least a bachelor's degree in social sciences especially Pol Sc..

But you can always call and check with the university..

Good Luck!
