Cats have no ability to taste sweet things. A horse can sleep standing up. Cows have four stomachs. A squirrel had no colour vision; it sees only in black and white. Every part of its field of vision, however, is in perfect focus, not just straight ahead, as with man. A kangaroo cannot jump if its tail is lifted off the ground. It needs its tail for pushing off. A snake has no ears but its tongue, which is extremely sensitive to sound vibrations, can act as its ears when it constantly flicks it and picks up sound waves. Can you believe it: a hippopotamus can run faster than a man. Male monkeys lose the hair on their heads in the same way men do. When attacked, the petrel, a giant bird of the Antarctic, repels its enemies either by regurgitating food in their face or by squirting a jet of viscous oil from its nostrils with a force that is sufficient to knock a person down. Flamingos are not naturally pink; they get their colour from their food, which are tiny blue-green algae that change to pink colour pending digestion. Penguin has an apparatus above its eyes that enables it to transform salt water into freshwater. An ostrich egg can make 11 and half omelettes! A rat can fall from a five-story building without injury, so...they’ll make good stunts creatures huh?

It has a heart the size of a car and a tongue as long as an elephant. *the fastest swimming fish in the world is the swordfish. *hummingbirds are the only animals capable of flying backwards. *there are more than a million animal species. *the most dangerous animal (rated according to the number of people they have killed) is the hippopotamus. *bulls are color blind. *a dog has only sweat glands on its paws. *a goldfish has a memory of 3 seconds. *Chow Chows (a breed of dog) have blue tongues. *a rat can survive for longer without water than a camel can. *birds can sleep with one eye open. *the tallest dogs are the Irish Wolfhound and the Great Dane *the smallest dogs are the Chihuahua. *the average dog lives for about 15 years.
