Economic Indicators 2008-09 and General Knowledge
GDP Growth rate 2 Percent.
Agriculture sector surpassed its target of 3.5 percent and posted a growth of 4.7 percent. Manufacturing sector missed its growth target of 6.1 percent as its growth has been recorded at negative 3.3 percent for ongoing fiscal year. Services sector, which was targeted to growth by 6.1 percent, has recorded a growth of 3.6 percent in ongoing fiscal year 2008-09. Literacy rate in Pakistan is 39 Percent. Tax to GDP ratio is around 9.5 percent and governments aims to take it to 15-20percent by 2010. Total investment as percentage of GDP after reaching a peak of 22.5 per cent in 2006-07 nosedived to 19.7 per cent in 2008-09. CRR = 5% For one year deposits. SLR=19% for one year deposits. SBP Discount rate 13%. August 15-2009. Per capital Income 1046 DOllar. Foreign debt 55.22bn Domestic debt 4072.1bn Forex Reserves (28-Nov-09) $13.72bn Saving rate in Pakistan has declined from 14.3% to 11% please confirm if i am right Baluchistan package was announced on 24 november. please share other expected gk MCQs |
