Let's analyze the question.

7 Girls = 14 legs.
1 Girl has 7 bags. In total there are 49 bags.

Lets calculate legs in just one bag first.

1 bag has 7 big cats. i.e (7 Cats = 28 legs) [Cat has 4 legs :p]

Again 1 big cat has 7 small cats i.e 1 big cat = 7 Small cats = (7*4=28 legs).

1 Big cat equals to 28 legs (except her own). There are 7 big cats in one bag i.e (28*7= 196 legs in one bag)

Now there are 7 bags with each girl, i.e (196*7=1372 legs)

And, finally there are 7 girls in the bus, i.e (1372*7=9604 legs in all the 49 bags)

Add the legs of girls themselves, i.e (7*2=14).

Answer should be 9604+14=9620

sorry brother its wrong i checked your solution and its mind boggling i couldnt find the mistake may be you did a tricky mistake . 9620 is wrong .

but i got a simpler solution to the problem.

see ,


no. of big cats = 7^3 = ( 7*7*7) = 343 .
no. of little cats = 7^4 = ( 7*7*7*7) = 2401 .
total no. of cats = 343 + 2401 = 2774 . ( either big or small cat is a cat)

7 girls have 7*2 =14 human legs
2774 cats have 2774 * 4 = 10976 legs .

adding all legs .

14 + 10976 = 10990 legs in total.

cats in one bag......................=49 small+ 7 big=56
total cats.............................=49*56= 2744
legs of one cat......................=4
total legs of all the cats..........=2744*4=10976
total girls..............................=7
legs of girls............................=7*2=14
total number 0f legs................=10976+14=10990
Answer.................................=10990 legs

brother you are mistaken too,

total cats are 56*49=2744
or
as yours~ 343+2401=2744

Anyhow your answer in total is correct.
