Some Incident
Hello,
I have heard about some incident, some people say it's mentioned in Qur'an while others say it's in hadith but i fail to locate it that Allah sent hazrat Jibrael to some people who were very advanced in "elmi-najum" and there he encountered a child (some people say 2 farmers, some say child) and Hazrat Jibrael asks him/them that where is Jibrael and he/they draw some lines on the floor and said "He's not in the skies" then said "It's either you, or me, since i know it's not me, so it's you" How authentic is this? Please shed some light; I have some questions then, thanks. |

Some Incident
I've heard this incident but not in this sens. Some people narrate this incident with the meeting hold among Hazrat Ali (K.W) and Hazrat Jibreel (the Archangel Gabriel) as conveyed by Hazrat Ali's homilies that " One day Hazrat Jibreel comes in the court of Hazrat Ali and asked if u've knowledge about universe then tell me where is Jebreel?
Then Hazrat Ali replied "He (Jebreel) is neither in skies nor in the layers of earth. He is either u or me.." Its strange that if less-literate persons are trying to code this incident as authentication of the profession of Prediction.

I've heard this incident from many people, even today our professor was talking about it. He said that God Sent Jibrael to destroy the nation and Jibrael asked "Why should I destroy it, what have they done" and Allah in responsible told him to go and meet them, when jibrael met them and asked them where is jibrael (he went in human form) then this incident happened and he destroyed the complete nation after that.
Now, This incident is really Interesting to analyze .. Thing is, Since when Angels reserves the right to Ask God "Why"? I thought they are pure and only take orders, but they ask questions also that why should we do blah blah? This has really confused me, If this incident is really authentic please quote where exactly is it mentioned. |

It is just a myth
It is just a myth, and it is sure that it is not mentioned in Quran.
As i know it is just a myth like other religious myths who are not mentioned in Quran or in Ahaadis. If it is in Ahaadis then it must have to cited.

angels cannot deduce results..for example suppose we(human beings) and they(angels) see a puff of smoke rising from behind a cliff...now we(humans) ill at once reach a conclusion that there is some fire burning behind that cliff whereas they(angels) cannot figure out that there is a fire behind that hill..what they can only know is that there is smoke rising from behind the cliff.(reason is that they cannot deduce results.they only know what they are told..if an angel is told to recite darood shareef it will go on reciting it untill the next command..they are massom)..in short an angel cannot ask "why" but...but i heard an incident somewhere that once the wings of an angel were burnt because of some mistake etc...howcome that possible? now taking advantage of this thread i would like to ask another question..we all know that PROPHETS are masoom and cannot commit any sin...but can a PROPHET commit an unintentional improper use of words as what once happened with HAZRAT YOUSAF(A.S)..HE(A.S) is said to have once used improper wordings for which HIS(A.S) stay in jail was prolonged by ALLAH ALMIGHTY..is it correct?

One thing is for sure that this incident is not in Quran. I have read the tafseer and I have read Sahih Bukhari also and I think its not in that book too I am not sure about it though.

someone here above said LI can give authentic source, IF LI (I assume LI is last island) reads this, and If you know any source and/or Information about this, kindly state it; Thanks
I have heard this every now and them from different people, If this is not in Quran then I am surprised how so many learned people talk about this incident. About angels, I don't think they can ask questions. I thought they were pure and can only follow orders (but, Satan also refused to take orders) so dunno, Please also elaborate (If someone has knowledge) that can Angels ask question(s) as to why to do certain things from Allah when they are given a command to execute by Allah |

satan was a jinn.he worshiped GOD in every corner of the earth. but another question which is very famous is that we all know that when ALLAH asked angels to bow before ADAM(A.S) then angels asked as to why should they bow before someone who will create menace on earth and lesser in knowledge etc(i hope i have rightly put forth the question) and at this moment ALLAH bestowed ADAM(A.S) with ilm e shiyun(knowledge about things) and ........now why angels asked a question here?
