@ Shooting Star....

When will you upload the past papers? Also tell me if i can get video lectures of phonetics and phonology....

I do not have any info about video lectures.Search on net or maybe you can get some material in this regard from videos section which is situated in library building,main campus.


I want to clear one thing,I don't have papers from 2009/10 onwards,is it okay?
If yes then i will upload the papers on coming weekend,IA.

Please let me know if their is any procedure of getting NUML notes or publications and syllabus by post as i'm from Gujranwala so it is difficult for me to visit uni at present. I contacted uni they told me to wait till 20th May, i gave them a reminder after 20th but no reply yet. The problem is i am confused. I don't even know the complete syllabus i have half of it, as well as there checking criteria and what they expect from student. :-(

Sorry,I am unaware of the procedure.Try to contact any numlian in your area to get some notes.Usually teachers do not provide any notes except some linguistic subjects.Students have to rely upon books,guides and lectures.You can easily get valuable material from net and NKM guides.

Here is the syllabus.(i don't know whether the syllabus is same for private candidates or not).

The criteria of checking is not very strict if we compare it to PU.Teachers want to the point answer.No need to fill sheets,just give solid arguments.If you quote the text in answer it is appreciated but don't overdo it.And last but not the least good expression and perfect grammar can fetch you really good marks.

If you kindly guide about the paper of short stories. Is it enough to prepare summary, writer's biography, critical commentary and literary devices.

You have to prepare all these keeping in view the syllabus.No need to prepare a detailed biography of writers.

Prepare critical commentary while keeping these points in mind:

-salient features/style of a writer.
-the era and its impact on their works.
-Metaphors/Symbols/Literary devices which they commonly use in their writings and what is the purpose/meaning of them.
-stylistic features and theme of a work

Also do prepare history of short stories.
Moreover,Memorize important text/keywords of the stories in order to support your arguments in paper.It is highly recommended as far as short stories paper is concerned.

As an external candidate you can consult books within the library but cannot borrow them as they are issued on library card only.
