Where should I complain about the misbehavior of a public-transport-vehicle's driver?
 

I am 25 years old woman living in Punjab Pakistan, and I often travel using the public transport.

I have often observed the staff (drivers, conductors etc.) of public transport vehicles misbehave with passengers (use abusive language etc.), especially women. I try to communicate with them as least as possible, but they often misbehave with other ladies, even old women. Moreover, I do expect that this can happen to me as well some day. So I want to do something about it.

So who do they come under? In case of misbehavior with another person, is there something I can do? In case this happens to me, what can I do about it?

We are citizens of a democratic state, so I do think that the law of Pakistan provides us a right to be dealt with in a respectful way. So what are my options in this regard, where can I complain? And if I do, can it be dangerous for me in any way?

You can't do anything because there is no such department established which could solve these kind of issues. It happens everywhere all across the Pakistan, you just have to bear it without involving yourself into it as you know that staff mostly is uneducated so how come you expect a good behavior from them. We are living in a so called democratic country where there is no such thing(Law) exists, where ordinary people can't do anything and can't even fight for their basic right.

ALLAH forbid, in case of any misbehave, give a call to [B]0800-933-72 [/B]. It's a toll-free number to address women harassment. The service has been introduced in collaboration with the 'Enhanced Democratic Accountability' and 'Civic Enhancement (EDACE) and IBEX Global.'

Don't ever bear any kind of misbehave and beyond limits gestures. You should reply with more courage so that it may clear to such people that you can defend yourself. You can also complain to police personnel and give bus/van registration number in case of any misbehave. In this way that culprit will be arrested.

Always refuse to be a victim, stay safe..

I strongly disagree with you. How could you let such inglorious people to do whatsoever they want to do ? Don't you think our silence could be dangerous and it makes them more confident ? No, certainly not at all ! We should have to fight against such garbage. God help those who help themselves. If you bear injustice and pain, then you are equally responsible of all those crimes, unlawful and forbidden acts done by them.

You wouldn't have here if your forefathers had bear the fierce blows of the British and the Hindus. So, always fight against offence. Silence and forbearance will make you an easy prey to barbarians. :)

You have a right to disagree with me. It is quite easy to say such words on forum or suggest someone to do something but in practical life it is not as easy as it seems if someone goes for it. Practical world is far away from "you should do this, you should that". And the lecture which you have just given to me is something which I am 100% sure, you are not doing/following yourself.

I myself have used public transport a lot. Lakin ab mein kis kis ki complain karon. Har teesra wagon walay ka rawaiya yehe hota hai. Yani k mein apnay career ka qeemati time in fazool kamo pey laga don jis ka koi faida nai hai... Ab aap bhi koi social worker tou nahi nai ho bas forum pey aa kay chand aachi aachi batein kar dein aur practical life mein kuch bhi nai. jo lecture diya hai mein ap sey sawal karta hon k aap kitna ku ye chesin follow kartay ho apni practical life mein. Ya phr forum pey he just batein kar saktay ho es taran ki??

Lol. Why should I follow it bro ? :D For your kind information, I haven't faced any kind of harassment and Alhumdulillah nobody can dare do that and if he does so, he shall have to pay for it. I can defend myself by all means. Suma Alhumdulillah !

Don't be offended bro. I didn't mean that. Yes, I should have used 'we' and 'our'. I admit my mistake. But, my point is that silence and forbearance can kill a person so he should resist, never ever lose heart and always defend himself till his last drop of blood.

Every other person using the public transport face the same problem, i have been engaged in altercation with them many times, for myself, and for others as well, but "wo sub aise hen, banda kis kis se laray?", online complaints are just of no use, only developing a website and asking citizens to register complaint there is an easy way of publicity, but no follow up is there for these sort of complaints. Transport authorities can ameliorate this menace, there is a need for social and media campaign against this. community organizations must come forward. govt is ignoring this issue. both genders equally face harassment there, we have to do something about it. these drivers, conductors can easily be taught how to talk to and deal passengers, just an hour workshop would be enough. but karay kon? organizations can work for "work place harassment" but not for public transport harassment, they can work for interfaith tolerance but not for social tolerance. media can highlight this issue for sure. besides, yeah, we must register compliant, we must not keep silent at least.

Regarding the corruption of CSP officers, I have nothing to do with it but ye zaror kahoga k hr insan barabar ni hota. jo log system ka part bnty ha woi corrupt ho jaty ha r kuch CSP's Punjab Food Authority ki director operations Ms. Ayesha ki tarah b hoty ha jo himat sy haram khaney k khilaf crack down krty ha, I wish to become that CSP, IAT ameen.

Yes you are right that who I am to judge your faith. But you didn't read my comment properly. I have included you, I and every other to make my argument general.
Jis taran "Jhoot" sey roka gaya hai.... lakin aaj kal k doar mein koi aisa nai ho ga jis ne zindage mein khoot na bola ho. Hala k Jhoot sey bhi tou roka gaya hai... esi taran bohat sey ehkamat hain jo hum log follow nai kartay .... Ab har koi "wali Allah" tou nahi ho sakta. Wo mein ne generally kaha tha ap ko point out nai kiya tha.
