Why people of Karachi are less interested in CSS?
It has been seen through years that ppl of karachi are more private jobs oriented rather than governmental jobs. Many seats from sindh urban quota go unfilled ?

Karachi is the commercial hub of Pakistan and the head offices of all large companies/MNC located there. They obsorb the talent of karachi with good pay and, therefore, the youth of karachi dont find any attraction in CSS/govt. jobs.

the other reason, public sector education produces nill progress while css preparation at private institutes demands hefty amount of fees, which middle class people can hardly afford, therefore people from karachi despite being aware of this prestigious job lag behind.regards

There are several reason which are keeping away karachities from civil services.
1) Good education and Attractive Jobs: A large number of good institution are available in Karachi who are providing latest desired education to karachities. Students graduated from these institution are in demand and recruited early by different organization whilst providing them excellent perks and peeks. 2) Corruption of Govt.Employees: The corruption of government employees are also the key factor in keeping less attraction. The prevailing corruption and injustice in the civil services have contributed a lot in building a negative image about it. 3) Labor involved in passing CSS exam: The difficulty and drudgery involved in passing the exam could be one of the larger contributor 4) Salary of the CSS officers: This certainly will be the point of consideration for everyone before starting preparing for the exam or even thinking about it!!! |

My all mates in uni were of the opinion that they were against corruption and sluggish bureaucratic system of the country.

In my opinion:
The people of Karachi are more attracted to the private jobs.I live in Karachi i have hardly seen any Urdu speaking person doing css they are more interested in private jobs, but now a days i have seen that people are getting more aware of css as new institutes have opened,so they are trying their luck now. |

Karachi is an urban city where people are more concerned with monetary benefits while in other cities and provinces power is given more importance. In a village PATWARI, Thanaydar, etc are supposed to be the most powerful people and so get more respect while in Karachi it makes no difference. That is the reason that in rural areas, from the very young age children think of joing police, incom tax etc. as they deem these positions most powerful and a way of exherting influence on others.

Well, the karachi in not the only urban area. Now more then 40% of the pakistani population is urban according to the latest estimates of the PCO.
The main reason is the local culture of karachi, where youth are groomed for money making from early childhood. Businessmen with big bank blance and large assets are respected more while the people having govt. job have low respect in society.
