Dear brother we love and respect all the companions of Holy Prophet(PBUH), Caliph Hazrat Ameer Muawiya(RA) was katab-e-wahi (who use to write the Quran while Prophet would recite it to Him);and katab-e-wahi's were most trusted companions of Holy Prophet (PBUH).
I am not saying that He was perfect;neither am going back to Islamic history and Political turmoils. but the Person whom the Prophet of Allah choose as katab-e-wahi must not be cursed.

agar nasal baap (mard) ke naam se chalti ho (as is commonly believed), pir sayyid, Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) ki nasal kese hain kyonke unki to koi narina aulad to nahi ti (I know that He has sons but they didn't survive)?

I think the answer to imbindas's question has been clearly delivered by many members, so this thread should be closed, as I smell an argument over religious differences!

Still if people differ about Saadat's origin, thats their point of view and beliefs and they are definitely not gonna change! so our focus should be on piety and virtue, not caste and creed really!

It is also one of the excellences of Hazrat Fatima RA that her progeny resumed the lineage of descendence of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and this will remain upto the Last Day.

Rasulallah (PBUH) said:

“All the offspring of Adam (A.S.) are attributed to their paternal relatives, except the progeny of Fatima that I am their father and their paternal link.”

according to sura 3 verse 61 imam HASSAN a.s and HUSSAIN a.s are the sons of HAZRAT MUHAMMAD(SAAWW).

It is also believed that there are fake syeds. I have heard that authentic syeds are only Jordan's rulers Others may or may not be syeds.

Also I have heard that original syeds have their "family tree" (Shajra e nasab: I don't know what is its english translation) document kept within their family for centuries and this is considered their proof of being syed.
