Smile Difference between sayyids and Ahl-al -bayt
Sayyids are Sunni muslims ; and decedents or supporters of Ahl-al-bayt are shia mulims.
my Question is if both are same (supporters of Ahl-al-bayt) then why contrast in sects.

first of all there is no hard and fast rule as who can be a sayed and who not in terms of sects.the definition of syed is,"someone,anyone from the bloodline of PROPHET(PBUH)".so sunni ,shia etc anyone can be a syed.

secondly,ahl-e-bait are respected and loved by the whole muslim community.this respect and love is not just restricted to shia community.

and although there are lot of rizviz,naqviz etc in shiaz but that does not mean that all of the shiaz are decendents of ahl-e-bait.
