how one can develop the writing qualities...any suggestion??

I read a Coulmn of Javed Chaudhry, he wrote

  • The most important point is use of 'Correct English'.Improve it first then go for creative writing practice.
  • Whenever you read an article or any short story, write it in your own words later , that may be called precis.
  • You should read good books and newspaper(as suggested by others)to enhance your vocabulary and it will also broaden your vision.
  • Then you should make yourself able to comprehend the written material.
  • Comprehension will make you able to further interpret the main theme or ideas of the story/article.
  • Add quotation or any couplet to make your para more interesting.
  • Practice in this way and soon you will be able to do creative writing
