Default I hv been recommended for 2 jobs. Help me choose one please.

As Salam u Alaikum everyone.

I am a master in Computer science.

About a month ago, I have been recommended by KPSC as Office Assistant (BPS-14) in Civil secretariat, Peshawar. I have submitted my arrival and Medical Report but expecting a Joining Order right after Eid ul Azha.

Yesterday, I got another letter of recommendation from FPSC as Computer Instructor (BPS-17) for Cant/Garrisons/F.G High Schools. Alhamdulillah.

I have little knowledge of Civil Services. Kindly compare both the offers for me so as to help me opting the most suitable for me.

Things that I am interesting to know specially are: Salaries, allowances, other benefits, environments, future aspects such as further study and promotions etc. Keep in mind that I plane to appear in CSS Exam in the first convenience. Please do tell me any other thing that you think I should know in this concern.

Best Regards.

Teaching is the only profession where one can plan several other activities in parallel with ones job. And you may have several avenues for studying PhD.

CSS is the matter of luck. To play safe, my recommendations are to accept teaching option.

Cheers

Straight away go for Computer instructor. There is no comparison of BPS 17 with 14 in terms of monetary benefits and respect in society as well. If you join as assistant, you might not be able to get BPS 17 till the age of retirement.
If you join as computer instructor, there are many ways opened for you. Departmental promotion as well as you can enhance your qualification and may join any university or other govt organization as well.

Hmm.. thanks and Eid Mubarak to everyone here..
Do anyone have any idea what will be the expected salaries of both jobs?

You know what? In fact I am in a dilema -- a fight between Job Title and Salary. Currently I am a Lecturer at a private university with no handsome salary (only 15000 pm) and no scale etc. On the other side is BSP-17 with I don't know how much salary but only as a high school teacher i.e Computer Instructor.

First Congrats

BPS-17 will earn you more pay than BPS-14, that is evident in itself. So, dear a job in Govt service with a higher grade is better.

Secondly, teaching is more of a career and you can excel in it even if you do not move to any other job or career direction.

Thirdly, with teaching you will not have very hectic work schedule, and you will find ample time to study in between your day as well as after your work timings.

Fourthly, CSS requires hard work but once the exam is taken its alot of luck involved so you may not just rely over it. In that case joining a service with higher grade means you will retire at a higher grade in teaching as compared to as an assistant.

Fifthly, the job of assistant is at times very exhaustive and it does not carry great deal of prestige with it as compared with the teaching job.

My opinion is that you join the BPS-17 job of computer instructor.
