ISLAMABAD, Feb 4: A police officer drew the ire of a woman constable who slapped him and created a scene at the Industrial Area police station when he objected to her roaming about in nondescript uniform.

Witnesses said the policewoman erupted at being chastened for putting on a coat over the prescribed uniform and wandering in the market during duty hours, she slapped the officer, threw office stationery and record at him and overturned furniture.

Both hurled obscenities at each other in the meantime.

A senior police officer of the Industrial Area police station confirmed the incident and said that the issue was settled and both the officials pardoned each others. The officer said that the unpleasant incident took place when the under training ASP sought explanation for her absence from the police station as, according to the officer, the ASP had spotted her wandering in the market during duty hours.

The woman constable asked him to introduce himself before asking such question as he was not wearing uniform, the officer said. This provoked him, the officer said, and he started rebuking her.

“Why are you wearing a coat which is not part of the police uniform. You don’t know how to talk to your seniors,” the ASP asked the constable.

The officer said at this the ASP and the woman constable got into heated argument. Later, the constable in a fit of anger started using foul language, the officer said.

The ASP first asked her to avoid abusing him but later he replied in the same manner. During the arguments the other staff of the reporting room kept quiet.

But the staff got surprised when the woman constable slapped the ASP and later threw stationery and whatever item she found on the reporting desk at him, the officer said. This situation stunned the reporting staff, who later called other women colleagues at the reporting room.

The policewomen overpowered the constable and pulled her out of the reporting room.

Hence proved to become an officer & to behave like an officer are two different things.

After reading between the lines, one cannot make an assumption that the officer was not behaving like an officer. However, the lady official was not behaving well and there should be initiation of some disciplinary proceedings against her on charges; as to why she was absent from duty and wandering in streets; why were she not putting on proper uniform; why she misbehaved/created scene etc. And she should be given some major penalty. ... (i think so ) But as it seems the under training officer gave concessions to that lady official and whosoever he was, he behaved very well (bravo man)...

Walikum Salam bro,

His altercation with a fearless lady Constable is an unbecoming conduct. He should have shown hi ID before interrogation. Such a frail show-off sometimes leads to an utter embarrassment.

WOA,
I disagree with you sir.You need to read this again

The woman constable asked him to introduce himself before asking such question as he was not wearing uniform, the officer said. This provoked him, the officer said, and he started rebuking her.

That lady constable didn't know that he was an ASP in police and he has a right to question any police official in Pakistan.btw instead of involving himself into heated argument,he should have simply written in roznaamcha or reported to some senior official for further action against that lady official.

And the net result was ''the issue was settled and both the officials pardoned each others.''

Absolutely immature move by ASP (UT).

Hmm fellows, i have read it again, the actual things can only be ascertained from mauka /ground situation (reporting by newspapers is often on the whims and wishes of the media person and linkages of persons linked to reporting and i am quite sure that an in-service lady constable might have good links then an ASP UT ) However, it seems that the situation happened at reporting room of a police station. ASP UT will not be in any ordinary dress and behaviour of people around him and his questioning to the lady would certainly had given an impression to the lady that he is not a common person to make questions from her . Further it seems that it was not his first day at police station and usually when an ASP UT is attached somewhere police in/around the police station get to know that a new officer has been attached there. They use to have lot of time for such gossiping If at all she was so naive to not get awareness of him being an officer, and she had asked him about his i.d. card then the people around them would have told her that he is ASP UT. Usually an ASP UT is given liberties by their linked officers even to suspend the officials under their jurisdiction if they do not work properly. The attachment is made to teach them how to do policing/maintain law and order as well as how to administer/manage/control people under their supervision so as per my thinking he was right in asking her . Nevertheless, he may be like a Timmy Ji officer or his officer was like DIG Khan of Timmy Ji , otherwise the lady official would certainly had been taught some good lesson............................................ ..................

Hmm upper-level connections ... We can see another side of the matter as well, in case the officer had requested for some enquiry then she would had made a plea that the officer was keeping a bad eye on her and he tried to molest her

Our future is really not too good ... ALLAH hi ALLAH hy....
